Zac Efron Hilariously 'Busts' His Grandfather Out Of His Retirement Home: 'Let's Get Outta Here'

There is hardly anyone in America who does not know Zac Efron's name. The actor has had steady fame since his days as a teen heartthrob in the early 2000s when he was cast as Troy Bolton in the iconic "High School Musical" series. Over the years, Zac has maintained his name and has grown into an adult heartthrob who is on par with big names such as Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio. 

In the last few years, Zac has stretched his wings and taken on different genres within movies, such as "Baywatch" and "The Greatest Showman." His most recent release was "Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile" where he played the serial killer Ted Bundy. With such a varied filmography, Zac has earned his renown in Hollywood today. 

Zac is also known for his relationship with his family and his down-to-earth nature, which many other Hollywood stars cannot boast about. He has maintained a close relationship with his parents and brother Dylan, and based on the most recent video he uploaded onto Instagram on July 13, 2021, his grandfather as well!

Not everyone is lucky enough to have a loving bond with our grandparents, especially as adults, but Zac is fortunate enough to have a wonderful relationship with his grandfather and have a lot of fun together with him. In the video, Zac jokingly "busts" his grandfather out of his retirement home while the "Mission Impossible" soundtrack plays in the background, and the two of them had over to the Zac household to watch the final Euro 2020 soccer match. 

The video showed that Efrons certainly know how to have fun together! The video, which was uploaded on Tuesday, is captioned, "We’re coming Grandpa!" Zac tagged his brother Dylan in the caption as well, meaning that both brothers had fun making this video, as did their grandfather. 

As the iconic soundtrack to "Mission Impossible" plays in the background, Zac tells viewers "Let's bust grandpa out of here." As he enters the facility, he does a couple of somersaults and sneaks his way into his grandfather's room at the retirement home by stealthily getting the keycard from an unsuspecting staff member. As he enters his grandpa's room, it is clear that his grandpa was part of the plan all along and is waiting to be bust out of there. 

Zac's grandpa shows that acting runs in the family as he says "Let's get outta here" to the camera. Zac and Dylan quickly wheel their grandfather out of the facility, but not before telling one of the grandfather's friends to "shush" as they are almost "caught." Once safely in the car, the grandfather says "Let's hit it," and in relaxation, takes a swig of cola as the three Efrons head home to watch the Euro 2020 soccer final between England and Italy, which took place on Sunday, July 11.  

As everyone watches the exciting game together, it is clear that there is a lot of love in the family. At the end of the video, Zac can be seen laughing and both brothers are in the frame as Zac says, "My Grandpa is a better actor than me."

CNN reported that Zac has lovingly called his grandfather his "hero" in the past. Zac even posted a birthday message to his grandpa in January 2019 and wrote in the caption, "Happy 91st Bday to the Original Efron! The man who made it all possible! After the army-he married my beautiful Grandma Dotty, raised three young Efrons- one of whom is one heck of a guy- my dad."

He continued, "And from the day I came into this world, taught me everything: how to tell stories, ski, laugh, love, work hard, and appreciate the beautiful things in life: paying it forward, treat others as one would like others to treat oneself, and live every day to the fullest." The deep love Zac has for his grandfather is heartwarming. 

He concluded the post by writing, "I’ve never seen anyone light up a room like you Grandpa. Thanks for being my idol, mentor, best friend, and the BEST SKIER in the family. Happy 91 years Grandpa! I love you. I’ll See you and Grandma soon! Can’t wait to follow your tracks down the 🏔 and beyond."

In the sweet video, his grandpa is seen blowing out the candles on his birthday cake, and in the background, photos of a Zac from his days as a teen star on the "High School Musical" series can be seen on the wall. The video also features his grandmother, who is seen smiling in delight.

Zac has shown that being a major Hollywood star does not stand in the way of his relationship with his family. The video below is sure to give you all the feels.
