Did you know 1 in 10 people will experience a problem of a numbing, tickling sensation running through your hand and up your arm? It's true -- maybe you've felt those symptoms yourself before, even if the cause is minor. If it's an ongoing issue, here is a list of common reasons you might be experiencing this sensation.

Fatigue

Causes: Sometimes we place more pressure on the nerves in our hand and arm. This can be from lifting something heavy, to putting your arm in awkward positions. When we strain our nerves, we might experience a tickling sensation. Our nerves feel "tired" due to the strain.

Tips: Stay rested, get enough sleep, and consider visiting your local massage parlor to alleviate stress.

A lack of Vitamins

Causes: A lack of vitamins can target a tickling feeling in our left hand and leg. Here are some vitamins to check:

E, B1, B6, B12,

Tips: Do your best to maintain a healthy balance of vitamins. It's worth visiting a doctor to check if an inbalance is even causing the sensation. If so, speak with a dietician to decide how best to incorporate these vitamins into your bloodstream.

Spine

Causes: Simply put, too much pressure on any of the body's nerves can result in some serious damage. When the stress is too much it results in a tingling feeling in our hands. Sometimes, if the tingling sensation is persistent, it could be a sign of permanent damage. Too much harm and stress was placed on the nerves. When the nerves in our spines are damaged, it can result in a tingling sensation in our hands.

Tips: Stretching your back well and often can soothe the nerves. You should try and stand once in a while if you're often in a stationary position. Also, yoga, swimming, and gymnastics are great sports that naturally stretch out the body.

Carpal Tunnel

Causes: Carpal tunnel is the result of repetitive motions with our hands that causes some swelling in our tendons and numbness. People with carpal tunnel syndrome often experience a strange sensation throughout their thumb, index, and middle fingers. Often times, the repetitive motions are due to a specific job or way of life.

Tips: You'll want to stretch as often as possible to help reduce the signs and symptoms of carpal tunnel.

Blood Circulation

Causes: When the joints in our hands and shoulder have been through excrutiating circumstances, it might result in some numbness. Not to mention, certain cardiovascular situations might reduce the bloodflow to our hands, resulting in numbness or tingling sensations. Needless to say, these issues are a direct result of something that's wrong with blood circulation. The lack of circulation is causing the numbing sensation.

Tips: Serious conditions will require medical attention. However, if not, increasing the cardiovascular activity in our systems through gymnastics or other means of working out can have a positive effect. Even going for a simple walk can help.

Buerger's Disease

Causes: This mostly targets smokers. Basically, the constant inhalation of smoke is equivalant to the constant inhalation of nicotine. The overload of nicotine takes away the minerals in our body which has a negative effect on bloodflow to our hands. This results in numbing sensations. It can eventually spread up the entire arm.

Tips: Qutting smoking--and other unhealthy endeavors--is the only way to begin to alleviate some of the stressors. However, the disease itself is not considered 100% curable.

Diabetes

Causes: Diabetes is known to cause numbing sensation in your feet and arms. This numbing sensation is often one of the first signs.

Tips: If you have diabetes, you'll need to inject insulin on a daily basis. Not to mention, you'll be in constant contact with your doctor or medical professional.
