A 10-year-old boy was playing basketball with other kids. It would be difficult to call the "teammates" friends because of the way they treated him. The poor child's shoes were in bad shape and falling apart and rather than be understanding about his plight, the other kids made fun of him mercilessly, reported WDRB.

Shaylynn watched the cruel events play out. Moved by the situation, she felt compelled to help him. The boy's name was Richard, reports ABC 13. "His shoes were like coming apart on the bottom and stuff, like flipped back," Shaylynn's stepbrother, Jamal Bibb, said.

She went into her closet and found a pair of shoes for the youngster. "I felt bad," Shaylynn said. "When I was little, when I was his age, I got made fun of. And I didn't like that. So to stop that feeling for someone else, it made me feel good."

"They were clean," she said. "They were brand new, so I didn't have anything to use them for."

Shaylynn shows true kindness and deserves a lot of praise for her charitable act of kindness. Few adults would reach out to a young kid in need, often overlooking the small things that hurt kids the most. This young girl helped without any hesitation, and while doing so created an example for many others to follow.

Her mother posted the video online not just because she was proud, but to encourage others to follow her lead as well. You can see Shaylynn's act of kindness in the video below:
