Woman Trapped In Elevator Films Rescue As Handsome Dream Hero Comes In

Hailey Logan, 27, was confronted with a terrifying situation when the elevator she was riding in stopped working, effectively trapping her inside. She kept her cool and pulled out her cell phone to film a TikTok, capturing the incident on video. Suddenly, she was face-to-face with an incredibly handsome New York City firefighter.

She posted her TikTok on April 22, 2021, with a caption enlisting fellow New York City residents to help her track down her knight in shining armor. In the video, you hear Logan’s voice as she films the firefighters working from the other side of the malfunctioning door. There are loud banging noises as the firefighters work on the door and nervous giggles coming from Logan as she is forced to wait for freedom.

At one point, she calls out, asking if she should help, and the handsome stranger responds that they are trying to engage a wheel mechanism on the door that should cause it to open, and that is exactly what happens next. As the door slides open, you can hear the surprise in Logan’s voice as she thanks the man for rescuing her. She and the other people stuck inside the elevator then quickly exit. 

Logan is a dentist in New York City and had no idea her TikTok joking about the man who rescued her would end up going viral. The video already has 5.3 million views on TikTok and the story has been covered by Inside Edition and Newsweek. Her most recent video is of her reacting to all the coverage of the story with a look of shock on her face.

Whether Logan was actually joking may be up for debate. The caption she put on her TikTok documenting the occasion read: "NYC I need your help. Please find this man that rescued me from an elevator today." It sounds like there may have been some sincerity in her search efforts.

After the video gained so much popularity, it is no wonder the internet was able to track down her rescuer, who is named David. Logan made another video as a response. "I'm so shocked, I'm shook that this video blew up the way that it did. I cannot believe how many of you are invested in this, so I felt like I needed to give you all an update," she said in another TikTok. 

She added in the same video, "So obviously he has been found. His sister found my TikTok and commented on it and then convinced him to make a TikTok. So thank you friends and TikTok and the internet for helping me out. It's been an extremely entertaining journey reading all of your hilarious comments all day." She looked completely shocked that her hero actually responded to her search.

David, whose account name is @firefighterbliss, said this in response: "What's up guys, my brothers at the firehouse just showed me the video. I read the comments. Thank you so much for all the love. I just wanted to make the video to say I'm glad you're safe." Such a heartfelt and respectful message was meant for Logan, who was so grateful for David’s effort.

Logan seemed shocked that David would create an account just to reconnect with her. She had to take the chance to ask him out after everything they had been through together. "TrueFirefighterBliss I hope you enjoy your new internet popularity and thank you for keeping us safe. Maybe I can buy you a drink sometime for saving my life. It's the least I can do. TikTok it's been a journey, I'll keep you updated." she said at the end of her response video.

With the video gaining so many views, it's no surprise that other social media platforms started paying attention to the story. Romance author Rebekah Weatherspoon shared the story on her Twitter account, saying, “So this dude rescued this woman and a few other people from a busted elevator. His sister saw that tiktok and showed him and then he posted this. I hope they get married.” 

Another romance writer, Beverly Jenkins, saw the story and also posted a reaction on her Twitter. “The ultimate meet cute. They don’t even know they’re in a romance novel. Someone should let them know,” she joked. A meet-cute refers to the way characters often meet in a romantic comedy. Common meet-cutes happen in coffee shops or at a bar, but for these two, it was at a rescue situation in a broken-down elevator. 

We still don’t know if Logan and David have had that drink, but she did promise to keep us updated, so we will have to wait and see. Overall it seems that getting stuck in that elevator may not have been so bad after all.
