Woman Says She’ll ‘Never Stop’ Plastic Surgery After Spending $49,000 To Resemble Marilyn Monroe

Plastic surgery has gained popularity in the last few years, and while some people go under the knife to look like a perceived better version of themselves, others do so with the intention of looking like someone else, usually celebrities. That's the case for a Los Angeles woman named Serena Smith, 23, who is so enamored with Golden Age of Hollywood starlets Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield that she's spent $49,000 on plastic surgery in order to look like them.
Smith has been spending money on plastic surgery for the last six years, and although she's had a number of major procedures, including breast implants, a Brazilian butt lift (BBL), rhinoplasty and fillers, she has no intentions of slowing down. In fact, she's gearing up to undergo her second breast augmentation with larger implants.
Her first time under the knife was as an 18-year-old in December 2016 when she took her 32A breasts to a 32DD. She followed that up with a nose job that cost $11,500 in a bid to get herself a "Hollywood nose." She also routinely gets Botox and fillers in her lips.
Speaking with the Daily Mail, Smith didn't shy away from discussing how painful the procedures were. She admitted she felt like she'd been hit by a truck after the BBL surgery and said the recovery was "very intense, definitely the hardest so far." She added that she had to "wear a compression garment 23 hours a day for two months" and that she was "sore all over covered in bruises and very swollen." Nevertheless, she doesn't regret getting the surgery done.

On the contrary, she's looking forward to her next big operation, swapping out her breast implants for larger ones. She told the Daily Mail:
"I'm really looking forward to my next surgery, a revision of my breast augmentation to go bigger. I'm planning on going from 500 cc Implants to 1,000 cc implants on each side."
Smith said she wanted to get the BBL done first so her new "extra-large implants ... would have good proportions and (her) body would be symmetrical." She added:
"I didn't want to look like an upside-down triangle, in my opinion, it's all about balance to achieve a really attractive look."
Overall, the influencer and budding musician with a small but growing following of 21,000 fans on Instagram is "very happy with the results" of the new "curvier look" she was after. She admitted "you forget the recovery process" after you've healed but said "you feel terrible" when it's happening.
Nevertheless, the budding starlet said, "everything is worth it for that newfound confidence" and admitted she'll "never stop" getting plastic surgery. She added:
"Anything that helps me lead a happier, more confident life is worth it to me, and like they say, pain is beauty."
Already thinking of the future, after she's finished her transformation she's open about the upkeep it will take to maintain a youthful appearance. She said, "having surgery makes me feel empowered."
Unfazed by the many so-called haters on social media, Smith is only focused on making herself truly happy. She added:
"... I like to continually improve myself. It's an investment into yourself."
