Woman's Husband Dumps Her After Learning She's Pregnant With Quintuplets, But 7 Years Later She & Kids Are Thriving

Planning a family is extremely important nowadays when the costs of living and raising children have skyrocketed. So when Oksana Kobletskaya from Ukraine and her husband, Sergey, met, they agreed to only have two children since that was the number they could afford to raise comfortably. The couple, who already had a 3-year-old daughter, decided to expand their little family with one more baby, but the events that followed shook them. 

When Oksana became pregnant again at 36, she and Sergey were happy until they found out that they would be having more than one baby. 

“None of our families had ever had twins,” Oksana said. “I was sure that I would never experience something like that.” 

However, there was a bigger surprise coming for the couple. Oksana had gone to the hospital for a routine ultrasound scan and noticed that the attending doctor looked surprised. She said: 

“When I saw the shock on the doctor’s face, my heart stopped for a moment. Then I heard her murmur, ‘You deserve a house on a lake for this...’”

The doctor’s reason became apparent when she turned to the expectant mother. The doctor gave her diagnosis: 

“I can clearly see five fetuses,” she said. “Maybe six... Hard to say.”

The news of the strange phenomenon soon went around the hospital. It turned out that none of the doctors had witnessed such a thing before. Oksana and her husband were shocked, and rightly so. 

“I felt like I was dreaming – like a nightmare. I was waiting to wake up at any moment,” Oksana recalled. 

The couple realized that they had to change their future plans entirely. 

“It was hard to believe,” Sergey said. “It takes time to digest such news. I mean, how can someone manage to take care of so many children?”

Worried, Sergey did the unfathomable. While his wife carried their quintuplets, he broke up with her – leaving the Oksana to fend for herself and the children all alone. 

The mom of six reported to the hospital when she was 30 weeks pregnant and her contractions started. Eight doctors received her and performed a cesarean section on her. 

“They treated me like I was made of porcelain; they were extremely careful,” Oksana said.

In an interview with Oksana, she had this to say about her ex-husband’s reason for leaving them.

“Perhaps he realized he couldn’t bear it. He was frightened and said that I was smartest and was to respond,” she pointed out. 

Oksana’s story reached a lot of people, and it touched people’s generous hearts to the point that she received plenty of donations from them. This caused her husband to return home, but on the first day, they quarreled, and he left and never returned. 

Years later, all of her toddlers have grown into beautiful kids. The supermom raised them all on her own with the help of her mother. In the same interview, Oksana couldn’t be happier with the blessings she had. 

“It turned out [to be] my greatest happiness, my prize. I think that God somehow has prepared me, and I was awaiting this miracle,” she mused. 

Quintuplets are rare, with one birth appearing in 55 million births. Meanwhile, according to the Mirror, Oksana and Sergey’s quintuplets are the first ones to have been birthed in Ukraine. 

However, the family relocated to Portugal to live as refugees when the war in Ukraine broke out. 

Nevertheless, the mom of five keeps fans up to date about the twins on her Facebook and Instagram accounts.
