Meghan Markle started 2025 with a bang, unveiling her new Netflix lifestyle series. The “With Love, Meghan” trailer offered a glimpse into the Duchess of Sussex’s world. While the preview highlighted Meghan’s culinary skills and moments in her everyday life, it left viewers wondering: What role does Prince Harry play in all of this?

According to the Netflix site Tudum, the show centers around Meghan’s passions in the kitchen, garden, and nature. The episodes also feature many guest appearances from her famous friends, whom she hosts in a rented $8 million property for the show.

In the announcement shared by the streaming site, the point of “With Love, Meghan” is to show how even the little things enhance the quality of our lives and experiences. The Duchess of Sussex understands this best, as she is a stickler for detail and adding personal touches.

“Sharing some of her favorite tips and tricks for cooking, gardening, crafting, and more, Meghan reveals how even the most minute details can help add beauty to our lives and, most importantly, help bring people together. Whether it’s preparing take-home gifts for guests or adding a sprinkle of edible flowers to breakfast, it’s truly the thought that counts,” the show’s deep dive revealed.

Although billed as a cooking show, “With Love, Meghan” also showcases the duchess’ skills as a host, beekeeper and gardener. After the show’s trailer was released on YouTube, netizens were caught off guard as they didn’t see Meghan’s new career pivot coming.

In tandem with the show’s release was Meghan’s social media comeback, as seen by the launch of her new Instagram account.

Her first post was a video of her running barefoot on the beach before ringing in the new year by drawing “2025” in the sand. She followed this with a second post, a video announcing her Netflix cooking show, “With Love, Meghan”.

In the clip, Meghan was seen working effortlessly with guests in her kitchen and garden. She captioned the post:

“I have been so excited to share this with you! I hope you love the show as much as I loved making it. Wishing you all a fantastic new year! Thanks to our amazing crew and the team @netflix. Beyond grateful for the support - and fun! As ever, Meghan.”

Meghan’s third post was a video tribute to her late pet dog, Guy, in which her children, Princess Lilibet’s soft voice and Prince Archie’s distinctive American accent, could be heard, showcasing their growing personalities and strong bond within the family.

In the “With Love, Meghan” trailer, the duchess said:

“I have always loved taking something ordinary and elevating it. Surprising people with moments that let them know I was really thinking of them. I am going to share some little tips and tricks and how you can incorporate these practices everyday. This is about connecting with friends, making new friends and just learning. We are not in the pursuit of perfection, we are in the pursuit of joy.”

Netflix’s official trailer for Meghan’s show included a moment with her close friend, actress Mindy Kaling, who could be seen enjoying a meal in Meghan’s kitchen.

In a rare interview on the Golden Globes red carpet, Kaling opened up about her time with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, offering insight into their dynamic, including Prince Harry’s cooking skills and his role in Meghan’s project.

Kaling told the viewers that Meghan had invited her to Montecito while on maternity leave and asked her to participate in the series. Reflecting on Meghan’s culinary talents, Kaling shared:

“I think of myself as kind of an okay cook and she unsurprisingly blew me out of the water.”

She continued:

“The thing about her recipes is they’re really accessible. She has a garden from scratch, which I could never do, and chickens which would probably all die if I tried to take care of them, but other than that, I would say it’s very accessible.”

Kaling also spoke about Prince Harry’s skills in the kitchen:

“Harry was there, but he didn’t cook for me, but I heard he’s actually a pretty good cook. He knows his way around a kitchen.”

While Prince Harry only appeared briefly in the trailer, hugging Meghan, Kaling’s comments suggested he could play a bigger role than expected.

In previous interviews, Meghan revealed that Harry had proposed while they were “roasting a chicken” in the kitchen of Nottingham Cottage in Kensington Palace. In a 2016 interview with Good Housekeeping, Meghan spoke about her love for roast chicken, saying there was “nothing as delicious (or as impressive) as a perfectly roasted chicken.”
