William Wintersole, Star Of 'The Young and the Restless,' Has Passed Away Aged 88

Veteran actor William Wintersole has passed away on Tuesday at the age of 88.

His daughter Tiffany Harmon confirmed on social media that he passed away peacefully in his Los Angeles home from complications from cancer.

“As a Hollywood actor for 60 years, he touched many ppls lives. I did EVERYTHING I could for him..and that brings me peace. But alas…I miss him so. One love!” Harmon wrote on Facebook as per People.

Wintersole was best known for his 25-year stint on the TV soap mainstay “The Young and the Restless,” as attorney Mitchell Sherman. Wintersole was also a “General Hospital” actor as well as appearing in movies and sitcoms.

His IMDb profile notes roles in “Bonanza,” “Little House on the Prairie,” “Star Trek,” and his first-ever role in “The Ugly American” starring Marlon Brando.

He was born on July 30, 1931, in Ohio and graduated from UCLA before starting his acting career.

According to The Hollywood Reporter Wintersole is survived by his life partner, Marlene Silverstein, daughters Tiffany Harmon and Katherine Ramsey, granddaughters Kristy, Amy and Jill, and great granddaughter Abby.
