William & Kate Get Praise From Royal Fans For Congratulating Harry & Meghan On Their New Baby Girl

Meghan Markle gave birth to her second child, a girl, with Prince Harry on June 4, 2021, at 11:40 a.m., according to an official statement from the couple. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex first announced that they were expecting their second child on Valentine's Day in 2021, only to reveal the baby's sex during the March 7 interview special "Oprah with Meghan and Harry."

While the royal family is unlikely to immediately assign the newborn a title, Meghan and Harry's daughter will become a princess if Prince Charles becomes king, as grandchildren of the king are automatically granted prince and princess status, according to Elle. In this case, Meghan and Harry's first-born child, 2-year-old Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, would also become a prince. With Queen Elizabeth II still at the helm, Archie remains seventh in line to the throne while Harry and Meghan's baby girl is just behind her big brother. 

However, all of this remains up in the air since both Meghan and Harry have distanced themselves from the royal family, stepping back from their roles as working royals in January 2020 and moving to Southern California shortly thereafter.

In the midst of all of the celebration at the newborn baby girl, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Prince William and Kate Middleton made their own post yesterday to congratulate Prince Harry, Meghan, and Archie.

PEOPLE reported that the statement from the couple released on Sunday read: "It is with great joy that Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, welcome their daughter, Lilibet "Lili" Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, to the world." 

The statement continued: "Lili was born on Friday, June 4 at 11:40 a.m. in the trusted care of the doctors and staff at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, CA. She weighed 7 lbs 11 oz. Both mother and child are healthy and well, and settling in at home."

The baby girl's name is truly meaningful as well, as all royal fans would know, and this was also addressed in the statement. "Lili is named after her great-grandmother, Her Majesty The Queen, whose family nickname is Lilibet. Her middle name, Diana, was chosen to honor her beloved late grandmother, The Princess of Wales."

Harry and Meghan's spokesperson concluded their statement: "This is the second child for the couple, who also have a two-year-old son named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor. The Duke and Duchess thank you for your warm wishes and prayers as they enjoy this special time as a family."

With the birth of Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor on June 4, 2021, royal fans are already wondering when the newborn will make her public debut. The world is already captivated by the newborn, and the royal family has released a statement about their delight at welcoming the newest member of the family. Now, Prince William and Kate Middleton have also shared their congratulations to Meghan and Harry and their new daughter.

Despite recent tensions between Prince William and Harry, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took to Instagram on Monday, June 8, to congratulate Meghan and Harry on the latest addition to their family. The caption read:

"We are all delighted by the happy news of the arrival of baby Lili. Congratulations to Harry, Meghan and Archie."

Because of the rift between the two brothers, many fans commented on the post by saying that Prince William and Kate are too kind to Harry and Meghan. One commenter wrote:

"They don't deserve your kindness."

Another commenter wrote:

"This is what the class and dignity of nobility looks like. Kindness and politeness in any situation."

Fans were impressed at the Duke and Duchess's friendliness towards Meghan and Harry, as the couple had stirred up a rift in the royal family ever since Megxit. Kate Middleton was even dubbed the "peacemaker" of the royal family. Royal expert Katie Nicholl weighed in on the topic, as she recalled Prince Philip's funeral and told ET:

"I certainly think she played quite an important role in getting the brothers to the point where they were able to engage in a conversation, of course, in front of the world's press...The focus of the day was absolutely rightly on the Duke of Edinburgh, this was about bidding him a fitting farewell and no one wanted there to be too much attention on William and Harry and this feud — but inevitably the world was watching."

A peacemaker indeed, Kate Middleton and Prince William have stunned fans again with their kindness towards the Megxit couple.
