'Will & Grace' Star Leslie Jordan Dies At Age 67

On Oct. 24, 2022, the world lost one of its brightest stars: Leslie Jordan. According to TMZ, the actor and comedian died at the age of 67. Reports indicate that Jordan was driving around in Hollywood during the morning while it was assumed that he suffered a medical emergency, resulting in him crashing his BMW into the side of a building.

It has been a devastating loss for Hollywood as Jordan was a phenomenal actor who captured the hearts of fans from all over the world. He is best remembered for his outstanding roles in series such as “Hearts Afire,” which aired from 1993 to 1995, and “Will & Grace,” which he was on for both the original show and its reboot. The reboot lasted from 2017 until 2020.

But Jordan continued to show off his talents throughout his entire career. He portrayed an eclectic mix of characters on the TV franchise “American Horror Story” from 2011 on. He was also in other series such as “The Cool Kids” and “Call Me Kat.”

It wasn’t just fans who adored Jordan, though, as critics also appreciated his brilliant acting. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series in 2006 for his role as Beverly Leslie on “Will & Grace.”

On top of that, Jordan used his platform for the betterment of others. He was involved in AIDS Project Los Angeles early in the AIDS epidemic. He also worked as a buddy and food delivery person for Project Angel Food. Jordan was openly gay and a true inspiration for the LGBTQ+ community and so many others.

Jordan was truly a Hollywood legend. He was in a plethora of shows, including “Will & Grace,” “Call Me Kat” and several seasons of “American Horror Story.” However, he also showed off his talents in many movies as well, such as “The Help” and “Ski Patrol.”

The actor has always been pretty famous, but he gained even more popularity in recent years as he was quite consistent with posting on social media. According to TMZ, his hilarious videos on Instagram helped him go from about 80,000 followers to almost 6 million followers. Jordan had told the outlet that his secret to his skyrocketing fame was just being himself.

One of Jordan’s most recent live TV appearances included him ringing in 2022 alongside Anderson Cooper and Andy Cohen on CNN’s New Year’s Eve special. TMZ had also seen Jordan out and about back in September 2022. And on Oct. 23, 2022, Jordan posted a video on Instagram detailing an original song he was planning on releasing soon.

According to IMDB, Jordan had a few projects still in the works prior to his passing, including “Strangers in a Strange Land” and “Ron.”

Jordan died following a car crash. He was 67 at the time. His team released a statement on his Instagram account stating:

“The love and light that Leslie shared will never go out and we invite you to share their memories and comfort each other during this time. In the coming days we will be giving a glimpse of a project Leslie was really proud of and was looking forward to sharing with the world.”

It’s evident that Jordan left a substantial impact on his friends, family, fans and the world.
