Widow Leaves A Single Rose And Heartbreaking Note On A Lakeside Gate Asking For Help

Kindness is a very simple concept. It holds a lot of meaning and is something the world needs more of. Kindness isn’t always about what you do or say, either. It is often about the way your kind actions or words affect the person they are meant for.

Kindness is about making other people feel good about themselves, especially when they need it the most. It is all about how the other person feels after you have shown them an act of kindness.

We all know that what we say and do can either make a person happy or make them sad. It’s all up to us. We may not remember every detail about our many encounters throughout life, but we will remember how we felt and what our emotions were when they happened.

That is why it is so important to take the time to make someone’s day a little brighter whenever we can.

This is where our story comes in. An anonymous note was found on a gate by a lake in beautiful Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham. This note caused a lot of emotion to the person who found it, as well as everyone who has since heard the heart-warming story.

The note was a handwritten one and was left with one long-stemmed red rose. While beautiful, the rose and the note had a deeper meaning. It was meant as a tribute to the writer’s late husband. According to the note, his ashes had been scattered in that very lake.

The Bishop Vesey’s Grammar School Rowing club was the one to post a picture of the red rose and the note on Twitter. You’ll soon see why it was re-tweeted and shared on all social media platforms.

The note had one simple request- for someone to throw the rose into the lake for the author. The author goes on to say that her late husband’s ashes were already in the lake. However, she was not able to get down to the water’s edge due to her wheelchair, so she was asking for some assistance from a kind stranger.

There was no name or phone number left on the note.

A wonderful member of the BVGS Rowing club spotted the note and was happy to do what it asked. They tossed the beautiful red rose into the water and then took a quick picture of it floating in the lake.

One commenter stated that she hoped the widow saw the post and knew that the picture and message had gone viral. We really hope it did, too. We bet it would mean a lot to the woman to know how far her note really went.

A week before the picture and note went viral, BVGS Rowing had tweeted a message about kindness.

They mentioned that it was “World Mental Health” day and that we should all be kind to one another. What an appropriate statement to make!

This was such a small gesture but one that made a huge impact. These types of sweet actions are what makes the world a better place. We want to give thanks to whoever was kind enough to do what the note asked, and we also hope that the widow finds peace.
