UPS Driver Strips Down To Underwear To Save Dog from Icy Pond, Then Returns To His Route

If you have a dog, you know that weather isn't a factor if they need to go for a walk. Some dogs love the cold weather and the snow. They don't mind getting a little cold or wet as long as they get to play and have an adventure.
Unfortunately, our little furry friends don't realize that all frozen ponds aren't completely solid like they look. They don't realize that the ice can be too thin even for their little bodies. Without fail, every time the freezing weather comes around some dog falls victim. It doesn't matter how much owners are warned. It's just not enough. And because of this, people end up risking their own lives to try and save the ice cold pups.

In Montana in the year 2018, another dog fell victim to this. Sadie was a dog that found herself in quite a predicament. She was trapped right in the middle of some very cold water in a pond. A man was trying to get to her but he was in a rowboat and was older so this made his pace quite slow.
A nearby UPS driver heard something strange when he had stopped to deliver a package nearby but he didn't see anything due to the fact that it was twilight. Ryan Arens could hear a dog crying and screaming.
Ryan loves dogs and couldn't just leave. He had to figure out what was going on. This is when he drove around to the pond to find out more. He found poor Sadie stuck in the pond and only the older man was there to help.
He knew that he was going to have to help them both.
Ryan could see the dog trapped only about 15 feet from the edge of the pond with ice surrounding her. Without hesitation he striped down to his boxers. He had the man get out of the boat and took over.
He was able to use the boat to distribute his weight evenly. He slid it out onto the ice and then carefully made his way towards the thin ice. Sadie was fading quickly and he wasn't sure how much longer she was going to last.
The cold water was taking over her. She was beginning to go under the water. Ryan was trying to get to her when the ice broke and then he fell into the frigid water. Now his life was in jeopardy as well.
He still wasn't worried about himself and his adrenaline fueled him to continue to try and save Sadie. He did what most wouldn't do at that point. He swam towards Sadie. He was able to reach her and grab onto her. Ryan swam them both to the shore of the pond.
Once they were out of the water, they immediately went to the older man's home. Ryan and the dog got into a warm shower together.
Ryan said that Sadie was so grateful. He was convinced that she wasn't going to make it if they had waited for help to come. Help didn't arrive until after Ryan had made the rescue.
After Ryan dried off and took a little rest, he set out to complete the rest of his day. None of the other deliveries compared to his time with Sadie. Later he was reunited with Sadie when delivering a package to the owner's address.
Sadie hadn't forgotten her hero. As soon as the owner let her out of the house, she ran straight to Ryan. He admits that it made him feel wonderful.
Sadie has quite a lot of life left ahead of her and Ryan is so glad he was able to join in on the rescue when he did. Do you have a soft spot in your heart for animals?
