One troupe of dancers stole the show
This group of dancers from China entered the YAGP dance competition in 2014, according to the video below. And while these dancers might be young, with an average age of thirteen, you don't want to estimate these ballerinas. The audience knew it would be entertaining, but they had no idea that they were about to witness the performance of a lifetime.
At the beginning of the dance, the girls assemble on stage, carrying fans that resemble delicate flowers. They raise their fans in the air and open them to reveal a beautiful pale green design. After a series of graceful displays, the girls stand on their tiptoes and dance across the stage with their fans, smiling the entire time.
They perform several classic ballerina moves that are made even more elegant by their graceful fans. They twirl, stand on their toes, kick their legs in the air, and prance across the stage in perfect sync. You've never seen anything so harmonious.
The dance becomes increasingly beautiful
As the dance goes on, several girls leave the stage to make it easier to see the remaining dancers. The girls dance in perfect formation and delight the audience with their beauty and grace. The rest of the dancers return to the stage for an energetic routine. You'd think that the girls would be out of energy by now, but their dance becomes even more astonishing.
They dance across the stage so effortlessly that it's like they've been doing this their whole lives. The fans become the centerpiece of the dance as the girls emphasize their fans with swooping motions and delicate hand movements. Their skirts swirl around their legs like delicate flower petals. At one point, the dancers group together and use their fans to create the image of a flower.
Near the end of the dance, they join together and dance in perfect sync like they share a universal mind. They hold their fans in the air like water lilies, then line up and create a stunning optical illusion. It's a spectacle that this crowd is privileged to witness.
The video went viral online
Since the video was posted online, it's racked up over five million views, tens of thousands of "likes," and thousands of comments. It's clear that the rest of the Internet is just as impressed as the audience was. And these dancers clearly made an impression on the judges, because they walked away with a first-place trophy at the end of the competition.
