TV Chef Jamie Oliver Not Enthusiastic: Wife Jools Oliver Wants To Have A Sixth Baby

Aug 10, 2021 by apost team

Jamie Oliver is one of the most celebrated chefs in the world. His impeccable talent in cooking has brought him fame not just on the food front but also in the entertainment industry. Known for his cheeky manner, IMDb describes his personality as down to earth, which has won him multitudes of fans around the world.

While Jamie's celebrity chef status is something that defines his presence on the big screen, he has made it clear many times over the years that his value for his family is above everything else. His marriage to his wife Jools Oliver has been strong since 2000, and he has taken a few chances in the past to speak about her in the media.

Jamie, 46, and Jools, 46, have been together since they were teenagers. Together, the couple shares five children — Poppy, 19, Daisy, 17, Petal, 12, Buddy, 10, and River, 5. They celebrated their 20th anniversary in 2020, and while the pair were set to renew their wedding vows in June 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic led to a postponement.

But despite their large brood and seemingly perfect family life, Jools has recently opened up about wishing to get pregnant again and have a sixth child. She also spoke about having five miscarriages over the years, three of which all occurred after the birth of the couple's youngest child. She also spoke openly about the fact that Jamie isn't quite sure about expanding their family further.

During a podcast appearance last year, Jamie gave his input into the matter, explaining that his wife is crazy for another child, but that at their age he thinks they might be at their limit.

Chef Jamie Oliver might be best known for his cooking, but any fan of his knows that family is a huge part of his life too — after all, he's often cooking for them! Ever since the famous chef married Jools Oliver in 2000, his wife has been a notable personality herself, particularly in the British press.

The couple is parents to five gorgeous children whose ages range from 19 to 5. But despite their large brood, it seems that Jools isn't content and wants more kids. She recently opened up about her desire to be pregnant again, as well as the fact that she's suffered from five miscarriages in total, with three of them occurring in a row since her youngest child River was born in 2016. But despite the heartbreak she's experienced, Jools wants to keep trying until it's no longer possible for her to have kids anymore, and is even talking about attempting IVF. According to Metro, she said on the Life & Soul podcast:

"Once you have these miscarriages you are always like, this baby is meant to be here, I have to keep trying. So I have thought about IVF because having researched it and spoken to some amazing people, it seems like the right option for my age."

But despite Jools' wishes, she also expressed that Jamie doesn't necessarily share her desire for another child. She said in the same podcast interview:

"But you know that’s it’s hard because also I’ve got a partner you know, I’ve got to think about him I’m not so sure he’s that keen to do it that way. So I don’t want to push anything, because I’m very lucky."

Jamie even commented on the topic during an appearance on the Joe Wicks Podcast in 2020, stating:

"Jools, she's literally nuts and she wants another one. It's definitely an interesting one but it's her thing right, that's all she's ever dreamt of and that's the thing that makes her truly happy. She just loves being a mother and for that I'm grateful but I think, you know, at 45, we're sort of probably on the limits."

Jools mentioned during her appearance on the Life & Soul podcast that she'll probably keep trying until she reaches menopause, stating:

"I presume when I get to an age when I’m in the menopause, I will think actually 'thank God.' I will feel relieved that it’s not possible and I can just carry on with my life and you know, relax, because it’s always in the back of your head, that’s the problem."

She also revealed that with her eldest daughter Poppy away at university, the empty bedroom has her thinking it's a "sign" to have another child. She added:

"Now I’ve got the older and the younger [groups of children] and I’ve got River, I think you know just one more, life’s all about pleasure that just gives me so much pleasure."

One way Jools is taking her heartbreak and helping others is by being an ambassador for Saying Goodbye, a charity that gives support and services surrounding baby loss. She has previously said that it made her feel guilty that she had four children [at the time] but that she felt she couldn't tell anyone about her miscarriages. By speaking up now, she's normalizing their occurrence and working with Saying Goodbye to help others heal.
