Trucker Witnesses Horrific Highway Crash Only To Realize His Dash Cam Caught A Miracle

On August 11, 2014, David Fredericksen, a truck driver, was driving along the I-10 near Biloxi, Mississippi when he witnessed a dramatic car crash take place right before his eyes. 

Fredericksen knew he had to help, so he hopped out of his truck and ran to the wreckage only for him to see what he could only describe as a miracle – and it was all recorded by his dashcam. 

It all happened so fast, as Frederickson describes it. All he really saw was a glimpse of a car driving in the wrong direction before it crashed and became engulfed in flames. 

“It was a pretty big explosion--and then the road, the car, everything—was on fire,” he told CBN.

Frederickson stopped his truck, sprinted out with a fire extinguisher, and ran towards the scene of the accident, albeit afraid of what he might see.

"When I got out of the truck and I pulled the pin, I just automatically started praying," he said.

Frederickson immediately got to work and attempted to fight the flames, when suddenly he saw something he really did not expect.

“I saw this little head pop up in the back window, and immediately, I thought, ‘Wow, they’re alive!” He recalled.

To Frederickson's surprise, inside the car were still an elderly woman lying in the front seat, attempting to kick the door open, and her toddler granddaughter in the backseat. Frederickson tried desperately to pull the door open but was struggling. 

“I heard the metal bending. I’m a pretty good-sized guy and if you watch the video, you can see that I’m struggling pretty hard to get it open,” Frederickson said.

He was running out of time, so Frederickson did the only thing he could do at the time–he started praying. Other motorists gathered around and started helping as well when finally, the door opened. They did it!

“Then in the back seat, that little head, I saw it pop up again, and out of the corner of my eye, I saw some other people showing up, and I so I reached into the back seat, and I grabbed the little girl. I reached in and she grabbed me around the neck.”

The crowd helped the woman out of her car while Frederickson carried the 2-year-old to the side of the interstate. To his surprise, both were ok–something he describes as a miracle.

“It seemed surreal that they were OK,” Frederickson said. “I mean, I didn't think anyone could survive that, truthfully.”
