Tourists Distracted By Something In Water When Camera Suddenly Turns And Everyone Screams

Whale watching is a popular tourist activity in Alaska. Because there are no guarantees that whales will make an appearance while tourists are on the water, most tourists are thrilled to simply see a whale or two frolicking in the distance. An up-close experience is certainly not expected or anticipated by most tourists, but this is exactly what one group of tourists experienced. 

When tourists piled into a rather small sightseeing boat in Alaska, they experienced almost ideal conditions for their tour. A light fog, overcast skies and gentle waves made it easy for them to search for whales across the water. When a whale was spotted in the distance, all eyes on the boat turned to watch this whale surfacing repeatedly.

At one point, it even began spurting water out of its blowhole in grand fashion.

With all eyes turned to the whale in the distance, everyone in the boat was completely caught off-guard when another whale surfaced within feet of the small vessel.

It rose many feet in the air and crashed back into water with a huge splash.

The tourists were drenched and completely in shock after their close encounter. While the proximity of the whale’s jump could have resulted in the boat capsizing, everyone on the boat was thankfully OK. Video footage captured this incredible sight, but this is an experience that likely will not soon fade from the tourists’ memories.
