Toddler Can’t Stop Smiling As He Tenderly Holds His New Brother For First Time

Babies are life's special miracles, and a safe and healthy birth is usually everyone's primary concern. Often when a new baby is born, everyone is so filled with anticipation, they can forget that the baby's older siblings may be experiencing the same emotions. One older brother, little Trevin, who is toddler age, got to hold his newborn baby brother, Carson, in a video from 2010.

Trevin only looked thrilled when he got the chance to hold his baby brother; he had a smile on his face the entire time. Sometimes, there is a concern that the older sibling will be jealous of a new baby, but this was not the case for Trevin and Carson. Trevin looked as if he would love and protect his younger brother for life. Hopefully, they will always get along so well.

In the video, Trevin is sitting in a chair in his mother's hospital room. As soon as he sees Carson, Trevin shouts "Baby!" with a wide grin on his face. The boys' father brings Carson over and lays the baby in his brother's lap. At first, Trevin starts tapping his hand on the little bundle, but he is then reminded to be gentle and softly caresses his brother's cheek.

Little Carson was opening and closing his mouth while Trevin was holding him, and it made it look like he was smiling up at his older brother. At one point, the father asks Trevin if the baby has any teeth, and he responds with a surprised "No!" Trevin has a lot more to learn about babies, but he is so tender and loving with his brother they are sure to be just fine.

When he sees his mom, and then his brother, Trevin's first words were: "Mommy's belly is gone!" His father responded, "This is baby Carso – oop, careful, soft." Trevin was surprised by his mother's change in appearance, but the mom and baby were healthy and happy.

At the end of the video, Trevin tried to say "I love you," to his brother and gave him some gentle pets. He waved goodbye at the end when his father said it was time to feed the baby. For a moment, it seemed like he did not want the baby to leave.

The video was posted to YouTube and has almost 2 million views. Many viewers stopped to leave their reactions to the precious moment. One commenter had well wishes for babies everywhere. "I Pray.. all babies in the world stay happy and safe with their parents.. God bless them," the user wrote.

Another commenter was taken aback by how adorable the video was. They wrote, "Too cute! May they have long and happy lives together full of love and prosperity!" Hopefully, these two brothers won't grow up to have a sibling rivalry and will remain close friends.

One other person said this video gave them hope for their own future child. "Very cool! My son will be 3 when my newborn son comes. I can't wait," the parent wrote. This kind of special bond between siblings is heartwarming to witness. Hopefully, everyone gets to experience that kind of relationship with their brother or sister at some point.

There is another popular video of a sibling caring for their little brother, but this time it was older sister Sadie, a 5-year-old from Phoenix, Arizona, and her reaction was very different from Trevin's. In the video, which Time Magazine posted, Sadie is crying, and when her mother asks why she leans in and kisses her little brother on the head.

Sadie responds, "He's so cute, and I don't wanna die when I'm a hundred!" It seems the little girl is just beginning to understand death, and she realizes her little brother will pass away someday, as all people do. This is a heavy subject for anyone, let alone a 5-year-old, so it makes sense that Sadie is crying and trying to stay close to her brother. The baby boy is oblivious to his sister's struggle but seems to be enjoying all of the attention.

Sadie's father explained the situation a little more in a statement sent to time. "She's cried about not wanting to get older herself in the past, but this was the first time she was upset about her brother. The funny thing is that this was totally out of the blue — we have no idea what prompted it," he wrote. The video is sweet and shows how much Sadie loves her brother, even though she is fretting over something that is not happening yet.

Both videos are great examples of the different ways we love our siblings. Trevin showed joy and excitement over his little brother, while Sadie reacted a little more emotionally. Either way, the sibling relationship is a special bond that should be treasured.
