About 1 out of every 5 adults in the United States are living their daily lives with a form of mental illness. Because of this, many people struggle to even get out of bed in the morning, let alone go about their daily routine. But many of them do so without anyone knowing any different.

Like many others, she lives with a mental illness. When people ask her what’s wrong, she simply explains she is “Just tired,” and people seem to accept that answer.

However, it's not that simple.

She explains in her post that she feels drained like many others with a mental illness. Just battling your own brain feel drained at doing this all day.

People with mental illnesses also have trouble falling asleep.

You may not be able to shut your brain off at the end of the day. You are left feeling restless and have trouble sleeping.

When you struggle with a mental illness, you often struggle to love yourself. You lack self-confidence and you struggle every day with your brain telling yourself you aren’t good enough.

There is also a stigma attached to mental illnesses that many people don’t understand. Just talking to people can be overwhelming at times and exhausting in itself.
