Detergent can be found in almost any household. No surprise, everybody wants to have clean clothes after all. But why do we use detergent only for washing clothes? Because of advertisements who tell us this is how it's supposed to be.

No detergent packaging ever says: "You can also use this detergent wonderfully to..." - even though detergent can do a lot more than just clean clothes!

For Getting Rid Of Urine Scale:

Everybody knows that those cleaning tabs for your dentures also help a lot against urine scale, but did you know that detergent can be just as useful? Even persistent urine scale can be fought with detergent! Spread some around your toilet before you go to bed. This way it can soak in and work overnight. Clean the toilet with your toilet brush the next morning and flush.

Making Your Vacuum Smell Fresh:

Everybody has experienced this: After a certain point of time, there's a slightly musty smell to your vacuum cleaner. Since it sucks up all the dirt and dust around your home that's hardly a surprise. Spread some detergent powder across the floor and vacuum it up. Fresh air will soon flow from your vacuum! Now vacuuming gets even easier than before!

For Cleaning Your Cooker Hood:

That greasy film you can find time and time again on your cooker hood is really disgusting, especially if you touch it. In the end, you don't even like to clean it. Just pour some water into a bowl, add quite a bit of detergent powder and mix it into a mushy paste. Then spread the mixture across the hood and let it sit for a few minutes. Afterward, you only need to clean it off with a moist cloth. That's it, your cooker hood should now sparkly with cleanliness!

For Polishing Your Sink:

Dull sinks just don't look nice and seem dirty even when they aren't. Plug your sink and let it fill up with water. Add a few spoonfuls of detergent and mix it in. Now you just need to wait. At least 10 minutes should the detergent get to take effect, then you can unplug your sink. Clean your sink carefully with a cloth and clear water afterward and then be happy about the shine of your sink.

For Cleaning The Cracks Between Tiles:

Pour some water in a bowl and add as much detergent as you need to get a mushy paste. Then use an old toothbrush to apply it to the cracks between the tiles and spread it around a bit. Now you need patience, as it can take a few hours for the detergent paste to take effect. Applying the paste in the evening and cleaning it off the next morning would be the best idea. Use a wet cloth for cleaning. Now the cracks of your tiles should be sparkling!
