What exactly happens when you use vinegar in your toilet? Vinegar helps clean out your toilet no matter when you use it. It works if you use it daily or if you use it on months’ worth of dirt and grime. White distilled vinegar is the best to use on your toilet. • Fill up a clean spray bottle with the vinegar. Yes, you could just dump vinegar straight into the bowl, but it will save you money if you use the bottle. This also allows you to spray vinegar on certain areas easier. Spray the whole inside of the toilet with the vinegar and allow it to sit. Depending on how bad the toilet is, you may wish to let it soak for a longer time.

• For a relatively clean toilet, allow the vinegar to sit for about 10 minutes. For a really bad ring, let it sit and soak overnight. When you are ready, use a toilet scrub brush to scrub out the vinegar. You’ll be amazed at just how clean your toilet becomes! This is a good idea for when you go on vacation, as well.
