These Are The Everyday Items You Should Be Keeping For Yourself

Oct 10, 2018 by apost team

When you're younger, one of the first things that you're taught is how to share with other people. Some of the things that you're taught to share include how you're feeling that day or a food that you have.

Toys are a big component when talking about sharing, especially when it's a game or a few toys that are similar in design. There are a few things that you might not want to share with other people because they could impact your health or the health of others.

Even if you have a best friend who you tell everything to and who you spend hours each week with, there are still some things that you should avoid sharing with that person.

Things That Cover Your Head

Anything that you use in your hair or that sits on top of your head shouldn't be shared with other people. Sharing items that are associated with your hair or your head is a good way to spread lice.

All it takes is for a few people who have lice to lend someone a brush or lend someone a hat for it to spread like wildfire.

Facial Products

While you might think that a cream shared between two people is alright, you shouldn't let others use your face creams or any other items that go on your face because of the number of bacteria that could be on your face and transferred with these items. If you're dipping your fingers into these products, the spread of bacteria is often faster than if you were to use a brush or a cotton swab.

Anything from eczema to psoriasis can develop on your skin as well as the other person's who you share the products with.

Pump bottles are good to have on hand so that you don't have to use your fingers or other items to get the product out.

Underclothes

Sharing clothes with someone else is one thing, but sharing underwear or socks is something that you might want to avoid. Each body is different, which means that the bacteria that you have on your skin is different than someone else's.

Underwear can lead to a urinary tract infection or other health issues with the urinary system as well as issues with the genital area. If you lend someone else the socks that you like wearing, keep in mind that it could mean hives or infections on the feet that can be difficult to treat without medications.

Oral Hygiene Products

If there is one thing that you don't share, it should be your toothbrush. The germs and bacteria in your mouth can lead to infections throughout the body in the person who uses your toothbrush. Oral herpes and strep are only two of the things that you could share with your friends if you decide to play dentist with them.

If necessary, use a clean cloth if you find yourself without a toothbrush. Along with a toothbrush, you should also avoid sharing dental floss and toothpicks.

Razors

Just like other hygiene products, razors can trap bacteria. Hepatitis is only one of the diseases that can be spread by the bacteria and germs that build between the blades.

Since there is a possibility of blood transfer from knicking your skin and the blood getting trapped between the blades, HIV and other bloodborne illnesses can be spread from one person to another.

It's a good idea to use a new razor after using your current one only a few times to maintain your own personal skin health.

Foot Products

Pumice stones and other items that are used on your feet should be kept to yourself.

If you share these after using them on your own feet, then you risk spreading warts or other types of fungus to other people.

Ear Supplies

Sharing earbuds might not seem like that big of a deal, but there could be an infection in your ear that you don't know about. Aside from any kind of infection, the bacteria that you share with someone else might lead to an infection in that person because of the different ways that bacteria react with other people.

Sterilize earbuds and other items that are used in your ears if you do have to share them with someone else.

Shoes

Among the types of shoes that you shouldn't share with others are flip-flops. All of the dirt, grime, and bacteria on your feet can be spread from your feet to the shoes to someone else's feet in a matter of seconds.

Make sure you share this with your friends and family so they know what not share!
