‘The Voice’ Premiere Leaves Fans Disappointed Over 'Disgraceful' & 'Irritating' New Coaches

With the premiere of "The Voice" Season 26, excitement filled the air as fans anticipated the return of the beloved singing competition. In September 2024, the 26th season premiered, promising new talent, new mentors and, most interestingly, new coaches. Familiar faces that returned to the coaches' chairs were Reba McEntire and Gwen Stefani. Meanwhile, R'n'B powerhouse John Legend, Chance The Rapper and duo Dan + Shay did not reprise their roles. Instead, the two new coaches for Season 26 were iconic rapper Snoop Dogg and the incredibly talented Michael Bublé.

During the show's premiere, fans were excited about coach introductions and the first group performance of the coaches. They were also eager for the blind auditions. These blind auditions make the show unique from other talent shows as they allow an unbiased selection of contestants by the coaches while each coach lines up their team.

However, as the curtain lifted on the season, a significant portion of the fanbase was quick to express dissatisfaction with the coaching lineup, specifically focusing on Snoop Dogg and Gwen Stefani. While both are iconic figures in the music industry, their roles as coaches have sparked debate, leading many fans to question the direction of the show.

It's safe to say Season 26 of “The Voice” started on a high note, albeit not a good one. The duo of Snoop Dogg and Stefani has set the internet ablaze, with fans rushing to complain about them. Read more to learn why the fans are unhappy with the pair as coaches on 'The Voice.'

From the initial response, it might take some time for fans of the show to warm up to Snoop Dogg. As the show premiered, fans took to the comments to express their disapproval of the usually beloved rapper. The reactions varied from threats and a boycott to criticism over his conduct.

"Banning this season due to Snoop Dogg! Disgraceful," commented one disgruntled user.

Another had more to say about the rapper’s methods of building his team in the first episode, as they ranted:

"This (season's) initial episode was awful!!! Snoop is a cringy judge! (His) trying to seek a contestant on branding and marketing was way out there!!!"

Expressing their criticism of the rapper while also disparaging the coach selection this season, another user commented:

"Snoop Dogg keeps saying the same things over and over. This is the worst set of judges they have ever had. I won't be watching and see how the ratings go this year."

Stefani, after years of experience as a judge on “The Voice” has still not entirely won over the hearts of the fans. This was evident from the fan reactions after the premiere.

"Not sure why they brought back Gwen. She was cute when Blake was on as a judge. I love Michael. But honestly I'm starting to find I'm bored with the show… none of the contestants really stood out to me yet," one commented.

Following the theme of Stefani’s famous husband, Blake Shelton, who was a successful coach on the show, another user complained:

"So we're only nine minutes into the show and Gwen Stefani is already irritating. Is she always gonna use Blake to try to get to the contestants (?) 🙄,"

However, some fans rushed to their defense against all the harsh comments. One user gushed about the pair, "Snoop and (Gwen)" alongside two heart emojis. Another wrote:

"Great judges! Snoop did even better than I expected!"
