The Douglas Family Celebrated The 103rd Birthday Of Kirk Douglas Honoring Him As A Living Legend

The legendary actor, Kirk Douglas, just turned 103 years old! But instead of throwing a big party, he celebrated his special day with his family.

Kirk's 103rd birth anniversary took place on Monday, December 9, which happened to be a lucky day for the whole family as his son Michael Douglas received a nomination for a Golden Globe. He got nominated for Best Performance by an Actor in a TV series for his role in The Kominsky Method.

Even though he got nominated for a Golden Globe, one of the most prestigious awards for any actor could dream of, Michael didn't make the day about himself. Instead, he made it about honoring his father by posting a picture of the two of them together on his Instagram. 

He captioned the heartwarming picture with: “Happy birthday dad, it is your birthday and your entire family is wishing you a grand one. We are so proud of your living legend. Happy 103.”

Michael's wife Catherine Zeta-Jones chose to follow suit and shared her own touching tribute to Kirk with a picture of herself and her father-in-law.

Kirk's grandson Cameron, the child of Michael and his ex-wife Diandra Luker also posted a photo of himself and his Pappy (a name that the whole family calls Kirk, as he revealed in an interview with People Magazine) saying: "Happy Birthday Pappy...you are a gift to the world; a guiding light and source of inspiration to me. I Love you."

But Cameron is not Kirk's only grandson sharing a tribute, as Dylan, Michael and Catherine's son, also honored his grandfather by posting a throwback picture on his Instagram with the caption: “They say time changes everything. And to some degree I agree. However, class is timeless, and the undisputed king of class is Kirk Douglas! Happy birthday Pappy 103!!! I love you.”
