If you live out in the country, you are used to seeing wild animals. The rest of us aren't, but when we do come across them, we find that these little creatures don't want anything to do with humans. A mother and her teenage son had a different experience. The pair was outside when they saw a baby koala and its mother.
They are living in Adelaide, South Australia, where koalas are plentiful, so they weren't surprised to see a koala family in their yard. There was a puddle outside of their home, so the mother koala decided to take a drink from it. The boy knew that koalas eat eucalyptus leaves, so he grabbed one and offered it to the baby koala. Instead of accepting the treat, the baby koala decided to get friendly with the teenager instead.
Sometimes, wild animals will make friends with humans. This occurs when the animals spend a lot of time around people, or they see a particular human being in their areas on more than one occasion. Even so, wild animals were given the moniker "wild" because that is exactly what they are, and we need to remember that whenever we come across them. This is good advice to follow most of the time, but one young boy in Australia decided not to do so.

Carefully offering the eucalyptus leaf, he tried to entice the baby koala into accepting it while making sure not to crowd the wild animal. The mother koala carefully watched the scene, but since she didn't see any reason for alarm, she went back to drinking. The baby continued to move closer to the eucalyptus leaf and the boy's hand. It surprised the boy and his mother when the baby began to climb up the boy's arm!
That's when the baby took an interest in the young man and decided to climb him like it would a tree. The teenager had a big smile on his face as his mother watched the scene. Koalas need to climb eucalyptus trees, so they have sharp claws, but the boy didn't seem to notice.
All the while, the koala's mother was enjoying her time in the water. According to the Daily Mail, the koala even tried to follow the mother and son pair home, but the young man pointed the koala in the direction of its own mother.
