Sweet Elderly Husband Says 'I Can't Do Without You' To His Valentine Of 64 Years

TikTok has captured hundreds of sweet moments and brought them to the audience of the internet. Especially around any holidays, feeds are full of surprise visits, thoughtful gifts, bouquets of flowers, and all sorts of heartwarming exchanges.
Couples surprise each other with puppies, vacations to Disneyland, and even the old fashion card on occasion. However, the sweetest moments come from those who have been together longer than some followers have been alive.
While they may not know exactly how to operate an iPhone or even what social media is exactly, the older generation definitely knows a thing or two about romance. Some of our grandparents have spent decades navigating marriage, raising children, and just generally figuring out life together, resulting in a bond that is truly inspiring.
Having graduated from sharing a straw at the soda pop shop, our octogenarians have since written the book on sweet gestures. Perhaps because they come from that so-called simpler time, our elders tend to remember that it's not always about tennis brackets or flashy rings, but rather the simpler things that really capture the heart.
One TikToker, Molly Stewart, shared a video of her grandparents in December 2021, while the two shared a heartwarming moment. In the video, grandpa walked up to his wife of 64 years and offered her a simple but symbolic little gift: a Valentine's Day card.
Both were dressed plainly, and there was no great ceremony behind the exchange; however, their words to each other are proof that the two shared a great love.

The scene was short but so telling in how much these two care for one another.
After shuffling across the room to his bride of 64 years, Grandpa sweetly asked her, "Will you be my Valentine?" Having been busy doing something at the counter, Grandma then turned to him. Teasingly, she responded, "What'd you say? What'd you think?" He joked back, "You ain't got no choice."
He then offered her a red envelope, a moment which the grandma took to remind her love, "I have been your Valentine for 64 years." She lifted the envelope, remarking almost out of surprise, "You got me a card?"
Whether or not it's the right time of year for cupid's arrow to be whizzing through the air, the gesture was definitely appreciated. She kissed her husband and said, "I love you, papa." He responded simply, admitting, "I love you, granny. I can't do without you. You make my world go round."
Grandma added, "You're the best Valentine I ever had." They embraced.
Viewers were charmed by the simple exchange, saying they were "balling (their) eyes out," and admitting they could "watch this over and over and cry every time."
Others lamented the lack of such gestures in younger generations. One commenter wrote, "This generation not even close to this type of love." However, some thought of their own loves. One TikToker wrote, "My husband and I had this until the day he passed away."
Whether viewers had their own special someone to think of while watching the video, everyone seemed to enjoy the brightness and warmth that it brought to their feeds. As one commenter wrote, "This made my entire week!"
Grandma responded to the love her video received, writing, "They are my inspiration." Sweet to think that they now inspire so many more.
