Susan Boyle Sings Breathtaking Rendition Of "O Holy Night," Capturing The Holiday Spirit

Christmas is one of the most special time of the years for many people. Between shopping, lights, and baking, there's a lot to do and a lot to look forward to. One of the things that the world looks forward to and sometimes dreads is the holiday music that fills the streets, stores, homes, and cars in places all around the world!

There are many big names whose voices fill the world with the cheer and spirit of the season. People look forward to hearing musicians like Pentatonix, Mariah Carey, Michael Buble, and Frank Sinatra, but one Susan Boyle has been getting attention from the world for her version of "O Holy Night" that is absolutely breathtaking.

The world first came to know Susan Boyle from Britain's Got Talent. Her passion for music is very clear and you can hear the feeling in her voice as she belts out note after beautiful note.

Christmas is an important part of the year for Susan Boyle as she is a faithful Christian and has dedicated her life to Christ. She once told Christian Post about how important faith is in her life. It has been especially important since she became famous for her singing. She thanks God for the gifts that she has been given that have been so important in her music career. She still goes to church on a regular basis and has done so since she was a child.

In fact, it was her love of the church's choirs that helped her achieve her dreams to be a singer. She was happy to be able to honor her savior through "O Holy Night". 

However, prior to appearing during the holiday show, Boyle was a member of a regular family, struggling with finding acceptance from her peers. Long before Britain's Got Talent and the international fame that came with her appearance on reality television, the singer had more humble beginnings. 

Boyle was born on April 1, 1961, in Blackburn, West Lothian. Her father, Patrick Boyle, was a WWII veteran and miner who also sang at Bishop Blaize. His wife, Bridget, worked as a shorthand typist. The couple had nine children, with Susan being their very last. While Boyle may have been able to find a place amid her many siblings, she didn't fair as well in the outside world. 

In an interview with the Guardian in 2013, the singer got frank about how she got bullied by her peers because she was "different." Throughout her life, Susan has suffered from emotional outbursts and struggled with social interaction and communication, which has often interfered with her ability to form relationships and act appropriately. Singing would be the only activity she could do that would bring her solace. 

Boyle said, "I come from a musical family," Susan said. "It has always been there, from my father down. Singing is always something I have done. It has been in my blood since I was 12 and took part in school productions and shows."

Boyle went on to explain how a doctor's visit later in life helped her understand some of her lifelong struggles. In her 50s, Boyle was diagnosed with Asperger's syndrome.

Susan had visited a doctor to speak about anxiety, which she boiled down to something being wrong with her. She explained further, saying, "I went to seek a diagnosis from a Scottish specialist," The singer continued. "Nobody told me to. I thought I had a more serious illness and couldn't function properly." Her doctor prescribed various tests for her, which eventually showed her "IQ was above average." Susan admitted that she was grateful to have received the diagnosis, but stressed that she would not let it define her. 

She continued, explaining her mindset after the diagnosis, "It will not make any difference to my life. It's just a condition that I have to live with and work through," she said, adding that she only hoped it would help others understand her better and show empathy."

Regardless of whatever struggles she may have previously faced, Boyle rose to the occasion of singing "O Holy Night." 

Her talent can be seen in a beautiful video that features a choir of children singing the background vocals. Susan Boyle's voice is absolutely heavenly and moved the audience as well as many of the people who have watched the video. The song starts low and quiet as she gained power and force with each line later in the song. It's a truly moving experience that should not be missed by anyone.
