Despite being pestered with romantic requests, Boyle has announced that she is simply too busy to go on many dates. In fact, in the last six years she has only had one foray with a potential partner. In an interview with the Mirror, she described the get-together as a calamitous affair:

“I didn’t tell anyone, and my team thought I’d been kidnapped. They were really panicking because I had a show that night.” As for her perspective suitor, Boyle politely explained, “The guy was nice, but he wasn’t for me.”

Boyle’s brilliant success story should serve as an inspirational reminder to the rest of us that our dreams are worth pursuing. Sometimes, it’s the unexpected detours that end up leading us to our preferred destinations.

An unconventional rise to the top is still an ascent nonetheless, so don’t get discouraged if your path seems offbeat or unusual. Those who laugh at you now may very well be begging for your hand in holy matrimony someday. Susan Boyle is living proof of this fact. Pass her story on to your friends and loved ones who should read this.
