If anyone could ever be the personification of you are never too old to live your dream, it's 92-year-old Lyndel Rhodes.

Many years ago, Rhodes wrote a very personal song entitled "Little House on the Hill". It was always a dream of hers to have it performed, but it was not until 2016 when Lyndel's son, Buddy Cannon, a songwriter and producer of note, helped turn her long-standing dream into a reality.

Buddy worked with many artists over the years, but the one artist he felt was the best person to bring his mother's song to life was Willie Nelson, an American Icon known for his trademark vocals and working class temperament.

Cannon pitched his mothers song to Nelson, and before you could snap your fingers and dance a jig, "Little House on the Hill" was the leading song on Willie Nelson's 2017 LP God's Problem Child.

The First Time Lyndel Heard Her Song

To commemorate the occasion Buddy recorded his mother's reaction to listening to her song being played for the first time. With the track in the background, he playfully asks her what she is listening to.

Lyndel told him it was "Little House on the Hill", and it was being sung by "Mr. Willie."

Soon after, Lyndel, overtaken by the moment, began interacting with the music. Her red slippers bobbing up and down to the beat of her song while she sang with "Mr. Willie" in a very heartwarming duet. It may have taken much longer than she thought, but to Lyndel Rhodes, dreams really do come true.

You can view her heartwarming glee in the video below. It will absolutely bring a smile to your lips and joy to your heart.
