Everyone makes mistakes, but sometimes those mistakes are hilarious. And now that smartphones are a societal standard, those funny mistakes can be recorded so that the entire world can join in the experience. That's exactly what happened when this silly son decided to record his mother's simple yet confusing parking lot experience.

Mental mistakes are easy to make. If you have a lot on your mind, you might momentarily forget a name, a phone number, or whatever it was that you're supposed to be buying at the grocery store. Memory isn't nearly as concrete as it ought to be, and that's why mistakes like the one in this video are even capable of happening.

Have you ever accidentally gotten into a car that isn't yours? It's an easier mistake to make than you think, especially when both cars are the same color and model. Even if you don't have memory problems, you might make this mistake when you're tired or if the light is particularly dim.

The mother in this video certainly seems to have forgotten where she parked and what her own car looks like. She walks through the parking lot, opens a car door, sits down in a vehicle that doesn't belong to her, and begins to fumble with her keys.

In the background is her son, who laughs while she tries to figure out why this car doesn't look so familiar. The audience gets to see him chuckling while she's already in the car. Instead of helping her, it seems that he decided to pull out his phone and record.

This chuckle-worthy scene only lasts for a few moments before the owner of the car in question completes his shopping trip. He arrives at the car and is surprised to find someone else inside. Unsure of what to do, he decided to knock on the door of his own vehicle.

Luckily for everyone involved, this interaction stems from a simple mistake. Once the mother realizes that she's in the wrong car, she quickly gets out and lets the real driver take her place. He doesn't seem to be too upset, and everyone goes about their business.

Of course, the woman's son is in the background, having a contagious laugh. His timely decision to record his mother resulted in footage of the entire incident; once he uploaded the clip, it went viral almost immediately. If there's one lesson to be learned from this incident, it's that you should never leave your car unlocked in a parking lot.
