Simon Cowell is one of the biggest names when it comes to talent competition shows on TV. He's appeared as the notorious lead judge on "X Factor" and "Britain's Got Talent" for 17 years. He's also well-known for his role on "America's Got Talent," making him a familiar face on both sides of the Atlantic.
He is often known to make headlines with his blunt and controversial comments as a talent show judge, sometimes including insults and even wisecracks at the contestants' expense and their various abilities. However, Cowell's harsh criticism has paid off, as he has brought together groups such as Fifth Harmony and One Direction.
The music mogul has played a hand in the business side of his own entertainment company, Syco Entertainment, and has also worked on the production side of many musical releases. On many occasions, Cowell is the one who does the roasting of contestants and auditionees who had a little more confidence and pride than how their actual performance fared. He was known to put these people in their places. However, in one of the auditions for "Britain's Got Talent" Season 16, it was the other way around.
In 2023, Boycanto, a group of young boys all over England, auditioned and stood in front of the judges. Its cheeky leader, 11-year-old Harrison, was the one who did the talking.
According to him, they auditioned to inspire and promote “boys dancing, singing and acting,” which visibly delighted the judges and the crowd.
Amanda Holden, one of the judges, asked what they would pick if they won the competition and take home a quarter of a million pounds – the money or the chance of performing in front of King Charles? Keep on reading to learn about their cheeky response.

Usually, when someone is confronted with the decision of whether they would choose between a huge sum of money or performing in front of perhaps one of the most important figures of the world, many would probably choose the eye-watering fortune instead of the other.
But 11-year-old Harrison pretty much echoed the sentiment of his entire boy group when he vocally and instantly chose to perform for King Charles III instead.
But, Harrison’s comments did not stop there, he went on to cheekily remind Cowell, who was listening intently at the judge's panel, about something important.
“You’ve gotta remember, it’s not all about the money, Simon!” he quipped, surprising Cowell and almost everyone at the venue.
The good thing is the joke landed well with Cowell who agreed 100% with Harrison’s decision.
Eventually, as they performed “Revolting Children” from “Matilda”, their bombastic energy filled the room, which earned them four yeses from the bench.
“You are revolting – and that’s a good thing. This was a really, really good audition, but just be really badly behaved going forwards,” Cowell teased the group.
Similarly, the boys received heaping praises from Alesha Dixon, Bruno Tonioli and Holden. Likewise, the internet praised the boys’ performance and Harrison’s wit.
“Yes Simon, remember that “ it is not all about the money “ wise words,” a user commented on the YouTube video.
“That Was Really Good Matilda Song Also Harrison You Got Me Laughing,” another shared.
“Love the performance so cute, love how each one has his own style and color, such cool wardrobe, they were so much fun,” one posted.
