America’s Got Talent” had the honor of auditioning one of the most familiar faces from the Eurovision world – Gabriella Laberge, a French-Canadian from Montreal, Canada, who was part of “Destination Eurovision.” Laberge, 31, is a YouTuber and talented violinist who has captured the hearts of her 345,000 subscribers on YouTube and many more worldwide with her passion for music and incredible talent. Before her big audition, she excitedly shared that the moment was an opportunity to make her American dream come true, saying:

“I thought the American dream could come true, you know. And I’ve been dreaming of that moment since I can remember so it’s very unique to be here.”

Not only is Laberge a talented performer, but she is also passionate about music, and there is nothing else she would rather do than perform and sing for the rest of her life. So, when given the chance to perform in front of the AGT judges – among them Simon Cowell who is known to be very critical but has also created some of the biggest stars in the world – Laberge knew she had to give it her best shot.

“This is the opportunity of my life,” she shared in a pre-recorded video, “to chase my biggest dream, which is doing music for the rest of my life.”

Judges Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara and Heidi Klum were visibly impressed when she began to play her violin. Still, Cowell’s hand hovered above the red buzzer, signaling his intention not to take the audition further. But this would soon change.

Laberge surprised the audience and the judges when she started singing a few moments into her audition, stunning them with a clear, angelic voice. The gifted Canadian songbird sang an unforgettable rendition of one of James Blunt’s greatest ballads, “Goodbye My Lover.” All four judges and the audience couldn’t mask their approval of her voice, and even host Terry Crews cheered her on.

When the song ended, she received a standing ovation from the audience and the judges, Cowell included. Although Cowell had been skeptical at the start of the audition, it was great to see how her voice changed his mind entirely. All the judges voted for her to proceed to the next stage of the talent contest.

Interestingly, Laberge is no stranger to singing competitions, having impressed viewers of “The Voice: France” in the show's fifth season. She had a memorable blind audition performing the violin and singing the Coldplay song, “The Scientist.” She serenaded the crowd, and all four judges turned their chairs for her. Those who don’t know her from her YouTube videos have undoubtedly seen her audition clips, and the multi-instrumentalist and vocalist is sure to keep enthralling the world with her remarkable talent.

Although she was eliminated from “The Voice: France” during the quarterfinals, her auditions and performances in reality show singing competitions, her YouTube videos and the music she’s released up to this point ensure that her talent continues to be discovered by new people and garner her more fans.
