Security Footage Shows Hotel Employee Saving Toddler's Body From Hot Tub And Starting CPR

A drowning-related loss in a family is a situation that takes a single second of distraction that can be even more hard to cope with afterward. Little children die in such a way, and everyone is surprised where the parents were when it happened. Truth is, most parents do not even know that their child is in the water.

This story is of a little boy that would have died with adults just feet away from him if it was not for the surveillance video that captured his drowning.

It was the family weekend. The mother, the father, and the two children were bathing at the Perry's Ocean Edge Resort of Daytona Beach Shores. The four family members were spending a good time near the hot tub of the resort.

The tub was about to close when the dad went out to get their towels. While there were six people in the tub, nobody saw when the two boys went into the water.

The two 3-year-old twins faced a different situation once inside the water. While one of them had arm floaties and stayed on the surface, the other one quickly went underwater where he stayed for over a minute without anyone seeing him as the jets hid him from sight.

The adults did not even see the little boy laying at the bottom of the pool. Not even the parents or staff members saw anything. The only witness to the accident was the 3-year-old twin who was pointing at the water but no one knew what he was trying to convey.

Two other people were also startled witnesses of the encounter. One was a guest of the hotel who said that he saw a child float in the jacuzzi. The other was the desk clerk who saw the surveillance video of the child drowning and radioed to a staff member to go check out what was happening.

Staff member Michael Johnson went to see check things out but could only see the body of the child after turning off the jacuzzi jets.

He performed CPR on the child until the boy finally began breathing again.

On the surveillance video, the mother threw something away from her purse as she saw what was happening. Later, the authorities found out that both parents had alcohol, marijuana, and oxycodone on the scene. The mother is charged with felony child neglect and destruction of evidence. As for the boy -- he is on his way to full recovery.
