Sasha Obama Goes To Prom Looking All Grown Up In A Gorgeous Black Gown With Thigh-High Slit

June is here which means high schoolers around the country are preparing to graduate and go out into the world. Another important rite of passage around this time is senior prom. That doesn’t exclude Barack and Michelle Obama’s youngest daughter Sasha, whose recent prom photos are going viral.

Newsweek reported that 17-year-old Sasha Obama graduates from the prestigious Sidwell Friends School in D.C. this month, but before that, she made some time to have fun at prom.

Photos of her and her date Christopher, as well as mom and sister, are trending on Twitter. In the pics, Sasha is all grown up now and people can’t believe that the young girl on Obama’s campaign trail has now become the high schooler in the photos. She is dressed in an elegant, slim, black dress with a high slit on the side posing in a backyard smiling with her handsome date dressed in black tie.

Her older sister Malia joins her by her side as well as mom Michelle for some snaps. It seems her father Barack is not in the photos. He would no doubt be a doting dad if he were there, although he said he is “pretty relaxed” about his daughters going on dates in a 2016 radio interview with ABC. He had a pretty touching explanation for it:

"The truth is, I'm pretty relaxed about it for two reasons. One is, Michelle, she's such a great example of how she carries herself, her self-esteem not depending on boys to validate how you look or not letting yourself be judged by anything other than your character and intelligence."

When pressed about the second reason he joked: “because they have Secret Service.”

Congratulations to Sasha as she goes to prom and high school graduation. It seemed like a blink of an eye when her dad was president and she was running around the White House as a seven-year-old.
