Sarah Jessica Parker is beautiful inside and out. She is incredibly talented and is most known for her work as an actress. One of her most famous and critically acclaimed roles came from her time starring as Carrie Bradshaw on the TV series “Sex and the City” from 1998 until 2004. The show was recognized for breaking new ground when it came to female representation on-screen.

"Sex and the City" was a huge success and to this day continues to have a strong following, so much so that in 2021 a spin-off series was released, with Parker reprising her beloved role. Though many fans were overjoyed about the return of the characters from the original series in the spin-off, “And Just Like That...,” not everyone was positive about the series.

Several trolls took to the internet to share their distaste for Parker’s casting, and they pointed out just how much she has aged since the original show aired. This included harsh criticism about how Parker had let her gray hair grow out.

However, the actress did not put up with the backlash and criticism, as in November 2021, she talked about the realities of being a working actress at any age and aging in the public eye. She also called out just how unfair and misogynistic people were acting toward her for just doing what everyone does: age. She spoke at length about her reaction to the unwarranted comments and touched on what she plans on doing career-wise in the future.

However, on Sept. 19, 2023, Parker shocked many when she dyed her hair blonde again, getting rid of all the gray hair that got people talking. Read on to learn more about Parker’s thoughts about aging and the reason for dyeing her hair blonde again!

Parker has been an icon in the entertainment industry for several decades. While she is most known for her role as Carrie Bradshaw in “Sex and the City,” she had already been a respected actress for many years beforehand. She made her Broadway debut at the young age of 11 before continuing to act on stage. Later, Parker landed roles in films, including “Hocus Pocus,” “The First Wives Club” and “Failure to Launch.”

It’s not surprising that Parker’s work has been loved by fans, and it has also been received well by critics. The actress has received plenty of accolades, including Golden Globe Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards.

Taking all of this into consideration, it’s easy to see that Parker has led a very remarkable life. On top of that, she is also an extremely gorgeous woman and has been recognized as a style icon by many. However, even Parker hasn’t been able to avoid the harsh criticism about her appearance as she ages, as many other celebrities have received similar comments.

In a Vogue interview, Parker spoke at length about misogyny.

"There’s so much misogynist chatter in response to us that would never. Happen. About. A. Man,” she pointed out.

In the piece, Parker talked about how hypocritical it was for people to shame her and other actresses for having gray hair but not shame men in the industry for having the same appearance. Parker also pointed out how people seem to be emboldened by social media, anonymously shaming her for anything, whether it be too many wrinkles or not enough wrinkles.

On July 21, 2023, the conversation about Parker’s gray hair and her decision to rock it naturally reached a fever pitch. When she was seen taking a breather from filming “And Just Like That...,” Parker was spotted hanging out with her pal Andy Cohen in New York. Cohen, 55, is proud of his gray hair. Sitting alongside him was Parker, who also had her beautiful gray hair in a slicked-back braid. Parker, who was 56 at the time, remained unfazed and continued to embrace the natural aging process. However, people online were brutal about her looks.

“Not a good look on her .... Few people can pull off grey hair and not just look ... well, old,” a user shared online.

“No, natural does not suit her,” someone commented.

“She looks 76 in teenager clothes!!” a third person chimed in.

However, some took the time to defend Parker’s honor.

“She looks great, thank goodness for women who embrace the natural look,” someone praised.

“Love her confidence! She get's messages on social media daily criticising her looks. In the same week where she's looked glamours filming, she sits here without make-up, grey hair and proud, showing the haters how little she cares,” another mused.

Some fans even compared Parker to her own character, Carrie Bradshaw, in the famous “Sex and the City” franchise.” However, for her, there has to be a line drawn.

"It's not an identity that I connect to ... It's not how I think of myself and I think it's probably the healthier approach," Parker said to People, as reported by Just Jared.

Even though Parker has pointed out multiple times that she’s not her character, many still see the similarity between the two. Parker reflected on the unfair criticisms she got about her approach toward beauty in an interview with Vogue.

“To be honest, I’ve never given much thought to (my attitude toward beauty); it’s never been that I’m without vanity — that would be complete nonsense — but I think that as time passes, you buy the things you enjoy, you learn how to put your cosmetics on in the way that feels most natural to you,” she told the publication.

Although she has reiterated multiple times that she is more than her character in the famed film franchise, Parker shocked people online when she channeled her glamorous character at an event. On Sept. 13, 2023, Parker attended the Summer Party at Kensington Palace Gardens in the United Kingdom.

In the carousel of photos she posted on Instagram, Parker wore a stunning emerald green gown which featured a plunging neckline and a slit that accentuated her legs. On top of that, the actress also wore a matching pair of metallic stilettos that gave a full Carrie Bradshaw fantasy as if she was going to walk around Fifth Avenue.

While her outfit stood out, fans took more notice of her newly dyed blonde hair after she got rid of the gray hair that many people online slammed her for.

“She’s so beautiful. Aging gracefully looks good on her,” a fan commented.

“Hair makes such a difference! Grey was ageing,” another mused.

“Ages ago she said she was not going to dye her hair, it seems she has changed her mind. She looks younger than ever. Well done!” one praised.

“She looks alot better when she gets rid of grandma hair grey hair,” someone pointed out.
