Sandra Bullock Has Stealthily Been Donating $1 Million After Every Disaster And No One's Noticed

Sandra Bullock turned more than just a few heads when the Hollywood star gave half of a million dollars to charity in 2018.
Bullock donated $100,000 of the sum to the Humane Society of Ventura County, California, alongside $400,000 for the American Red Cross to benefit victims of the California wildfires that year. That sum is on top of a whole slew of other charitable donations she's made, many of which we'll highlight in this article.
Bullock released a statement along with the donation that read, “The untold destruction from these fires is heartbreaking, especially following the tragedy at Borderline in Thousand Oaks. I’m glad to be able to help. We’re all family in this, whether it be human, furry or feathered.”

The Twin Tower Attacks In 2001
The terrorist attacks of September 2011 devastated countless families and broke the hearts of many Americans. The attacks targeted the Twin Towers in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington D.C.
Once the full scope of the devastation was tallied, the official count was that nearly 3,000 Americans had died, according to CNN. Bullock joined other celebrities in efforts to raise money to fund the cleanup and recovery.
CNN reports that a telethon Bullock took part in secured $150 million in donations.
The 2004 Tsunami Disaster in Indonesia
An earthquake in the Indian Ocean caused a series of Tsunamis to hit the coastal locations in a number of surrounding islands in 2014, the BBC reports. Tsuanmi waves travelled at 497 mph, and more than 200,000 people died across 13 countires. In Indonesia alone, around 120,000 died.
Bullock donated $1 million to the Red Cross to help with relief efforts, according to E! News.
Hurricane Katrina in 2005
The category five hurricane devastated the gulf coast in 2005, wreaking havoc in Louisiana, Florida and Mississippi. The National Hurricane Center estimates the death toll to be around 1,200, with 1,000 deaths in Lousiana and 200 in Mississipi.
Bullock once again donated $1 million of her own money to the Red Cross to help victims of Hurricane Katrina, according to E! News.
2010 Earthquake In Haiti
Haiti was devastated by a major earthquake in January of 2010. The Haitian government estimated the death toll to be more than 300,000, according to Encyclopedia Britannica. Additionally, hundreds of thousands of individuals simply had nowhere to go after the earthquake. Sandra Bullock gave $1 million to Doctors Without Borders after hearing of the tragedy in Haiti, E! News reports.
2011 Earthquake And Tsunami In Japan
A magnitude nine earthquake struck northeast of Tokyo on March 11, 2011, causing a tsunami with waves that got as high as 30 feet, according to CNN. The government has confirmed over 22,000 deaths along with 2,500 declared missing. The star of the hit movie The Blind Side donated $1 million to benefit the victims of the devestating earthquake, accoriding to E! News.
Warren Eason High School 2012
Warren Eason was the oldest public high school in New Orleans before Hurricane Katrina struck, according to E! News. The hurricane caused more than $4 million worth of damage to the school, so Bullock donated $25,000 to contribute to rebuilding efforts in 2005. In addition, Bullock helped the school to develope a health clinic on campus in 2010.
Art + Practice Foundation
The Art + Practice Foundation was formed by the joint efforts of philanthropist Eileen Norton, artist Mark Bradford and activist Allen DiCastro, according to the foundation's website. The organization is headquartered in Los Angeles and provides the local community with access to contemporary art at no charge. The foundation also supports foster children in the area.
Bullock was the first person to wear a custom-made shoe designed by Rupert Sanderson in 2015. Shortly thereafter, E! News reports that the actress placed ten pairs up for auction and donated one hundred percent of the proceeds to the Art + Practice Foundation.
Svend Peterson 2017
Svend Peterson was a pool manager who had worked in Beverly Hills for most of his life. The retired pool manager found himself on hard times recently and was forced to live in his car at the age of 86, according to E! News. Luckily, a friend of the man started a GoFundMe page to aid Peterson and Sandra Bullock donated $5,000 with the message: "'Everything is going to be ok!' Louis Bullock (My son)."
