Samoyed Gains Internet Fame For Adorable Wakeup Practice With Her Human

Let's face it, waking up stinks for the vast majority of us. As kids, our parents are jolting us out of bed for school. Even on weekends, we were air-raided awake for no apparent reason except, maybe a bit of revenge for keeping them from sleeping during those newborn days.

Well, as this video posted from Tom Brown in 2014 shows, waking up doesn't have to be all bad. Lexi the Samoyed seems to have a wake-up regimen down pat with her dad. If you really think about it, there are worse, make that much worse, ways to be pulled out of your slumber, right?

It's pretty obvious that dogs don't care who it inconveniences when it comes to them. This includes waking their owners up in the morning for their usual walk. As far as your dog sees it, the temporary disdain you have for them is totally worth the result.

Lexi's story is no different, but we will say she takes a more gentle approach to wake her dad up for her walk. Perhaps, she knows this tactic will get her what she wants much quicker. Whatever her thought process, it is completely adorable.

Since an average-sized female Samoyed weighs about 55 pounds and stands just under 2-feet tall, Lexi could get her way simply by plopping down directly on top of her dad. Personally, we think that would make an awesome video, too. However, this gentle mini-giant does not do just that.

Instead, you can see Lexi staring her dad down while he peacefully sleeps. Eventually, she uses her furry paw to begin tapping on his chest. It's almost as if she's rousing a sleeping baby. Unfortunately, this simply isn't waking her dad

Have no fear, as Lexi's plan involves more than one step. She begins the second phase of her plan by gently touching her dad's face with her nose. Wait, what? If you have a dog, you surely are thinking well, that will wake him!

Picture being all snug in your bed when a cold, wet dog nose is pressed against your face. Eek. Surely, THAT will wake her dad, right? Apparently not. Lexi continues rubbing noses with her dad for a bit. Then, Lexi does about the cutest thing.

Almost as if she's lost her patience with her sleeping human, Lexi puts her paw upon his face and rubs her nose more aggressively on his. You can tell her dad feels this as he jerks his head away while mumbling "Lexi..."

Lexi doesn't stop there. She begins pawing at her dad's chest while nuzzling his nose and finally licking him. Dad rolls over, clearly wanting to stay in bed as he thanks Lexi for her kisses. It's pretty clear he is awake, and Lexi will soon get to go on her walk. This is one dog who knows what she wants and how to get it. This video, with over 23 million views, proves it.
