Royals Wearing White: Kate Middleton's Best Looks
Jul 13, 2020 by apost team
Kate Middleton is a true style icon—not only does she look impeccable on every occasion, she treads the path between classic, timeless style and trendier fashion pieces with ease. And while she's known to stick to a select few designers she loves, particularly Alexander McQueen and Jenny Packham, she's not against trying out smaller brands that are up-and-coming.
Here, we take a look at the many times the Duchess of Cambridge has worn white and looked angelic—including her stunning wedding day of course!
Wedding 2011
Kate's iconic wedding dress will go down in history. Designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, the demure gown featured a sweetheart bodice, lace sleeves and top, a full skirt with a long train, and a classical veil. Topping off her ultimate princess look is the Cartier Halo Tiara, which was loaned to her by the Queen. This is still one of Kate's best style moments, which is even more meaningful since it was her wedding day.

Royal Ascot 2017
A vision in white lace, Kate opted for a long-sleeved knee-length dress with a matching fascinator for the Royal Ascot horse racing event in 2017. Designed by Alexander McQueen—the same designer behind her gorgeous wedding gown—the slim fit of the top emphasizes Kate's tiny waist, while the fuller skirt is feminine and graceful. Neutral beige accessories keep the look airy and light.
BAFTA Awards 2019
For last year's BAFTA Awards, the Duchess wore this stunning white one-shouldered evening gown, once again designed by Alexander McQueen. To complete the look she borrowed a pair of earrings that belonged to Princess Diana. A simple chic updo allowed her dress and accessories to be the focus.
BAFTA Awards 2020
While attending the BAFTA Awards earlier this year at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Kate stuck to the event's theme of sustainability by re-wearing a stunning white-and-gold gown by Alexander McQueen which she'd first worn in 2012. The embellished gown is so intricate that simple accessories and her hair worn back allow her dress to be the main focus.
A Street Cat Named Bob Premiere 2016
While attending the premiere for A Street Cat Named Bob in November 2016, Kate wore a gorgeous long-sleeved gown with an edgy geometric print top and a pleated floor-length skirt. She opted for a brooch and earrings to accessorize, while her hair worn down in loose waves completes the pretty look off.
Australia and New Zealand Tour 2014
During Kate and William's tour of Australia and New Zealand in 2014, Kate opted for a trendier style with this short-sleeved knee-length dress. Featuring an intricate lacelike design consisting of overlapping circles, the fabric adds an edgy touch to the otherwise simple shift dress. Contrasting black heels and a clutch bag further adds to the look.
Passchendaele Commemorations 2017
Looking incredibly sophisticated in this white coat and hat, the Duchess of Cambridge was attending the Passchendaele Commemorations in Belgium in 2017 alongside the Duke.
