Royal Family Members Send Well Wishes for Duchess Camilla On 74th Birthday

Duchess Camilla celebrated her 74th birthday on Saturday, July 17, 2021, and birthday wishes poured in for her from royal family members. Among others, Camilla's well-wishers included Prince William and Kate Middleton and Queen Elizabeth. In response to the birthday posts, Prince Charles and Camilla also uploaded a "thank you" post of their own. 

Camilla has had a busy few weeks leading up to her birthday. The Duchess of Cornwall was the epitome of high class and elegance when she was spotted out and about for a royal outing on June 15, 2021. Camilla alongside her husband Charles was seen looking marvelous together on the first day of Royal Ascot, the most extravagant annual horse racing event in all of England. The event was sadly canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic but resumed in 2021, leading the royal family to grace everyone with their presence and beauty, especially the Duchess of Cornwall.

The event is a show-stopper in itself, as Royal Ascot is full of exciting races and fun ways to come together and celebrate. On top of that, it is a place known that people go to show off their impeccable fashion, including the royal family. Over the years, the family members have followed the strict dress code perfectly while dressing to the nines. From simple, elegant looks to extravagant fashion statements, the royal family never disappoints when it comes time to show off their beautiful sense of style. 

Camilla also attended a reading at St. James's Park, where she read "The Tiger Who Came to Tea" to schoolchildren on June 22, 2021. 

PEOPLE reported that Kate and William honored Camilla's special day by sharing a smiling shot of the royal on Twitter, with the caption, "Wishing the Duchess of Cornwall a very happy birthday today." 

The queen also joined in and posted a birthday tribute to Camilla on Twitter by writing, "Wishing The Duchess of Cornwall a very happy birthday today! #HappyBirthdayHR." The Royal Family account also added a link to "find out more about The Duchess’s life and work." 

Charles and Camilla also gave their thanks to the royal family and members of the public in a post on their official Instagram account and wrote, "Thank you for all the birthday wishes for The Duchess of Cornwall 🎂"

There have been no details yet as to how Camilla celebrated her birthday, but it is likely she spent time with her husband at their home in London. It has been an exciting time for both Camilla and Charles as they became grandparents again with the birth of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's daughter Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor. The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall released a statement about Lilibet's birth along with the queen as well as William and Kate. 

The Sun reported that a spokesperson for Buckingham Palace said, "The Queen, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, and The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been informed and are delighted with the news of the birth of a daughter for The Duke and Duchess of Sussex." There is no news yet about when Meghan and Harry will make a return to the UK, but it is certain that everyone in the royal family is looking forward to meeting its newest member.

Camilla is a devoted and active member of the royal family and has continued to be part of royal engagements with her husband. Her appearance at the Royal Ascot showed a glowing and beautiful Camilla taking part in one of the most exciting events in the UK. 

The annual horse racing event has been in operation since 1711. Queen Anne even rode out from Windsor Castle and declared the area of Royal Ascot “ideal for horses to gallop at full stretch,” according to an Instagram post from the Clarence House. The first royal meeting took place there in 1768.
