The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree in the Wiliams family. Zelda Williams the only daughter of the late award-winning actor Robin Williams has followed in her father’s footsteps and become not only an actress but a director in the industry as well.
Zelda has been taking on acting roles since she was a young child with her first movie “In Search Of Dr. Seuss” in 1994. Since then she has appeared in shows like “Criminal Minds” and “Dead Of Summer” according to TV Guide. The actress has recently stepped out of her role in front of the camera to follow another passion, directing. She directed a film entitled “Shrimp” which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and now she has taken on a blacklisted Hollywood script for the film “AMA (ask me anything)” according to Deadline Magazine.

Zelda has also partnered with campaigns to help bring awareness to mental health. In an Instagram post, she said, “With an estimated 1 in 5 people living with mental illness, ending the stigma around mental health and encouraging honest, supportive conversation is as important now as ever.” She also added “As for how I am, REALLY, I take it day by day. Some days are great. Some days are nearly impossible. But the great days, the fact they can exist at all, make navigating the hard ones that much easier. And when I'm down, I write. Or rock climb. Or Netflix binge with my pups. Anything, to do SOMETHING.”
Last year, Zelda also posted an emotional tribute to her late father, “Everyone who has dealt with loss knows the pain of certain anniversaries, moments full of memory that come round like clockwork and usurp all others, no matter how hard you may try to prepare for or avoid them,” she wrote. The director also expressed how she is thankful for everyone reaching out to her to say how much Robin Williams meant to them, she called upon them to donate or volunteer at a homeless shelter in his name. “Mostly, try to spread some laughter and kindness around. And creatively swear a lot. Every time you do, somewhere out there in our vast weird universe, he’s giggling with you,” she said.
