Ricky Martin Is A Doting Dad To 4 Kids, Including Twin Teenage Boys Fans Say Have ‘Grown Up Fast’

Ricky Martin has lived in the glamor of the international spotlight ever since modern pop culture could remember. The Puerto Rican superstar can sing, dance and act, making him one of the biggest stars in the world.

Aside from being a renowned international superstar, Ricky Martin is also known for being a family man as he is a proud father of four children: twins Matteo Martin and Valentino Martin, born through surrogacy in 2008, and Lucia Martin-Yosef and Renn Martin-Yosef, whom he shares with his ex-husband, Jwan Yosef.

According to Sportskeeda, his first son Matteo was born on Aug. 9, 2008. He also wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps, as he already started pursuing a music career.

On the other hand, his second son, Valentino, is pursuing a career in online content creation through YouTube.

His two children with Jwan, Lucia and Renn, were born in December 2018 and October 2019, respectively. Although the ex-couple wanted to live a private life, they occasionally shared glimpses of their children.

Unfortunately, in 2023, Ricky and Jwan got divorced. Before diving into their separation, let’s take a look at their relationship history.

According to People Magazine, the couple first connected on social media in 2015. After meeting each other virtually, the two started dating after six months.

Fans were thrilled to see Ricky walk the 2016 amFAR Inspiration Gala red carpet hand-in-hand with his new lover at the time.

They announced their engagement that same year and tied the knot two years later.

Unfortunately, their relationship didn’t last, as they filed for divorce in 2023. Although they didn’t disclose the exact reason for the breakup, they told the outlet that they ended their marriage “with love, respect and dignity for our children.”

After Jwan and Ricky announced their separation, fans became curious about who would care for their children. It appeared both fathers wanted to be present to raise the kids, as Ricky sought joint custody of Lucia and Renn.

As for his twins Matteo and Valentino, Ricky has been a single parent to them.

Aside from custody, the divorce petition between Ricky and Jwan also noted that the “Shake Your Bon-Bon” singer would pay his husband spousal support.

Amid settling his divorce in July 2023, Ricky got a heartwarming surprise from his twin sons who joined him onstage during one of his concerts in Locarno, Switzerland.

Many fans were surprised as Ricky tends to keep his children and personal life private.

In an Instagram post, the singer shared a video of himself performing on stage when suddenly, the two boys joined him to hype up the crowd.

“What a beautiful surprise! When my twins jumped on stage with me for the first time in Locarno, Switzerland,” he wrote in the caption.

Matteo and Valentino, who donned casual clothing, appeared to be happy at the time as they jumped up and down while waving their hands up. They seemingly got their confidence from their father, who had been performing for decades.

In the comment section, fans shared their love and support for the happy family, as one wrote, “How nice to see them enjoying like this!!! To think that one day they found out they were Ricky Martin’s kids and couldn’t believe it.”

The concert video also came as a surprise for fans who couldn’t believe how grown-up Ricky’s children looked.

Ricky’s fans were also in for a massive surprise when Matteo and Valentino joined him on the red carpet for the premiere of his television show “Palm Royale” in Beverly Hills on Mar. 14, 2024. Now both 16, the boys looked so grown up and were almost as tall as their famous dad.

Although Ricky has largely kept his family life private, he does give fans rare glimpses into his life as a doting dad. In August 2024, he shared photos of enjoying some pool time with his two youngest children, Lucia and Renn.

Fans were thrilled by the close relationship between Ricky and his young kids.
