Rebel Wilson Flaunts 70-Lb Weight Loss In Form-Fitting Workout Outfit

Jan 10, 2022 by apost team

In 2020, Rebel Wilson made headlines for her dramatic weight loss. She described 2020 as her "year of health" and had come close to her target weight thanks to a dedicated regimen of diet and exercise that worked out well. The 41-year-old actress and comic, who is known for movies like "Bridesmaids" and "Pitch Perfect," said in the interview with The Sun that she has decided to stop listening to film bosses who have reportedly paid her to "stay bigger."

In the same piece, the news outlet reported that the Australian star's weight loss journey included high-intensity interval training (HIIT), mobility, weight, and resistance training, along with technique and tempo workouts — and that's with only one day of rest during the week. To stick to that ambitious schedule, Wilson enlisted the help of celebrity personal trainer Jono Castano Acero.

At the end of 2019, Rebel Wilson made a promise to herself; she vowed to make 2020 her "Year of Health" and to reach her ideal weight of 75kg, and it looks like the actress has reached not only her ideal weight but also maintained it. In her most recent photographs on social media, it is clear that Wilson has been diligent with her weight loss and maintaining her health.

Since she has debuted her healthy and fit self, Wilson has been an inspiration for women across the world who want to become healthier as well. On Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, Wilson took to Instagram to show off her well-earned body in some form-fitting sportswear.

In November 2020, "Pitch Perfect" actress Rebel Wilson revealed she had reached her weight-loss goal — with a whole month to spare! That's an impressive feat.

Wilson, who turned 41 in March of 2021, posted an Instagram Story in November 2020 to share the happy news with her followers. She included a photo of the weight displayed on her scales: 74.6 kilograms, or 165 pounds.

According to US Weekly, she wrote

"Hit my goal with one month to spare. Even though it's not about a weight number, it's about being healthy, I needed a tangible measurement to have as a goal and that was 75kg's."

In another post the star shared in January, Wilson had a few encouraging words for others who might find themselves stumbling on their own health journeys.

"Even if you have to crawl towards your goals, keep going x it will be worth it," she wrote. "Try and give a little bit of effort each day. I know some days are frustrating as hell, you feel like giving up, you get annoyed at the lack of progress … but good things are coming your way."

Wilson, who is known for her no-nonsense, honest approach to life, continued by stating her goals in her post:

"I'll be honest with you guys—with my 'Year of Health' mission, I'm trying to get to 75kg's and career-wise, (I) am trying to get one of my movies into production before the end of the year!"

Page Six reported that Wilson addressed the reason for her journey towards better health on an Instagram Live segment and said that she had her heart set on starting a family.

Her response to a fan asking why she decided to embark on her health journey in 2020 was, "That is such a massive question, but I'm going to try to answer it for you," and added, "It first started when I was looking into fertility stuff and the doctor was like, 'Well, you'd have a much better chance if you were healthier.'"

While Wilson was initially offended by the suggestion that she lose weight, she said that she eventually took the advice. "That's kind of what started it, that if I lost some excess weight that it would give me a better chance for freezing eggs and having the eggs be a better quality," the actress said. "It wasn't even really myself, it was more thinking of a future mini-me, really."

Wilson had previously opened up about the obstacles she has faced on her fertility journey.

"I started gaining weight when I was about 20," Wilson told E! Online in an interview. "I had something called PCOS -- polycystic ovarian syndrome -- and I gained weight rapidly. It's just a hormone imbalance and you gain a lot of weight usually and that's how it manifested in me."

"Sometimes, I feel sad, but then at the same time, I worked my body to my advantage," she added. "I like being all sizes. It's just now turning 40, I am more health conscious and thinking of starting a family."

Her post was very positively received, and hundreds of women thanked Wilson for her inspiration and for always being open about her journey. One woman wrote, "Rebel, you are a legit inspiration. Thank you for putting yourself out there as always, and especially in this way. Keep going 🔥" Another chimed in, "Thanks for the encouragement, in times like this we need more people that gives hope."

In an interview with People, Wilson was candid about the fact that she wasn't always practicing healthy habits. "Before I was probably eating 3,000 calories most days, and because they were normally carbs, I would still be hungry," the Isn't It Romantic star said. "So, I've really changed to eating a high-protein diet, which is challenging because I didn't used to eat a lot of meat," she added. "I eat fish, salmon, and chicken breast."

For many people who are not used to eating meat, a high-protein diet can be a big change. It requires dedication, too, of course, which Wilson has shown and has reaped the rewards. However, it may also be a hindrance if one is chained to a diet without allowing any space for flexibility. This midset — one that gives wiggle room to go with the flow — has also been important in Wilson's overall weight loss. She admits that she 'cheats' sometimes, but it isn't anything to punish oneself over.

"It doesn't mean every week is a healthy week," she said. "Some weeks are just write-offs, and there's nothing you can do about that."

"I'm just trying to go for overall balance, overall healthy balance," she said.

Now that she's reached her goals, Wilson has taken to Instagram to share her new body with the world. On Sunday, Jan. 9, 2022, Wilson posted a photo of herself in workout clothes. The caption read:

"Rebel Rising 😉 #2022"

Now two whole years after Wilson's initial commitment to her physical health, she's still continuing to maintain her achievement and inspire others. Way to go, Rebel!
