Held at Westminster Abbey, the Christmas carol service has become a treasured royal tradition, bringing together joy and a sense of togetherness that extends beyond the holiday season. 

In the days leading up to the service, Kensington Palace released a sweet 16-second behind-the-scenes clip showing the preparations of the invitations.

The event will welcome 1,600 guests and honor those who have shown love and compassion in their communities. Supported by the Royal Foundation, the event will air on ITV on Christmas Eve, offering viewers a chance to reflect on the importance of connection during life’s most challenging moments.

In addition to the event preparations, Princess Kate also wrote a heartfelt letter to accompany the invitations for the Christmas event — a period of “celebration and joy” that she treasures deeply. 

In her message, she exuded warmth and gratitude, setting the tone for what promises to be an uplifting and memorable evening.

Fans didn’t take long to express their admiration, reinforcing Princess Kate’s title as the “Queen of Christmas.” The Princess of Wales's letter read:

“Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year. It is a time for celebration and joy, but it also gives us the opportunity to slow down and reflect on the deeper things that connect us all,” she wrote.

In a passage that had many scrambling for tissues, Kate added:

“Above all else, (the Christmas story) encourages us to turn to love, not fear. The love that we show ourselves and the love we show others. Love that listens with empathy, love that is kind and understanding, love that is forgiving, and love that brings joy and hope.”

In her heartfelt letter, she highlighted the many individuals across the UK who devote themselves to supporting those in need. She wrote:

“Across the United Kingdom, there are so many inspiring people embracing those in need. They have provided comfort, counsel, and connection, and above all else they have shown that love unites and strengthens us all.”

Signed as “Catherine,” the princess's letter was a powerful reminder of her commitment to the causes she holds dear.

This year’s Christmas carol service holds particular significance for Kate, and her message of compassion resonated deeply. The letter celebrated the unsung heroes who lift others and reaffirmed her dedication to love, empathy and compassion. Reflecting on her health journey, she wrote:

“This Carol Service is a heartfelt celebration of every one of you, and a reminder that at Christmas, and throughout the year, we must all shine for each other. Because in times of joy and sadness, we are all each other’s light.”
