King Charles and Queen Camilla recently ended their widely publicized tour of Australia and Samoa, marking the end of the tour with much fanfare and a heartbreaking speech from the king. Their last stop of the tour was a four-day state visit to the island of Samoa, where they were welcomed with a heartwarming celebration. On their last day, a colorful and cheerful ceremony was held in their honor amid the downpouring of rain. The king gave a speech, thanking the islanders for their welcome and their love for the monarchy, while Camilla looked on with tear-filled eyes.

Despite the incessant rainfall, the ceremony perfectly represented the beauty of Samoan culture, with floral garlands for the attendees, as well as a shower of color courtesy of the red carpet and brightly-hued mats. At the ceremony, King Charles was given an honorary title before he and Camilla were handed ceremonial swords and watched as a troupe of performers showcased a famous war dance while they sat on their designated golden thrones.

The farewell celebration also included the “ava ceremony,” an ancient practice that involves a drink made from the ava plant and which was held in the village of Siumu. The drink was presented to the king in a coconut shell, and he graciously accepted the token.

The visit was overall a successful one, with the village chief telling the king: “Your Papa Prince Philip was here, so were your brothers. So thank you for making the time. Your royal visit has lifted our house.”

The royals expressed gratitude for the gifts bestowed upon them by the people, and for everything that had been done to make their stay comfortable.

The royal tour of Australia and Samoa also took an emotional tone towards the end, especially since the king had managed to embark on the journey amid his cancer treatment. Camilla was even spotted wiping tears as Charles delivered an impromptu speech in Samoa.

"I shall always remain devoted to this part of the world and hope that I survive long enough to come back again and see you," he said.

He also took time to appreciate the role played by the people of Samoa in the success of the tour, saying:

"We've been so impressed by the beautiful way in which all the villages have decorated the roadsides, it is something very special about Samoa."

While Camilla was reportedly emotional at the end of the tour, it was not all gloom. She also wiped away tears of laughter at the way the rain had disrupted the event by causing glitches and technical difficulties. Her emotions captured the attention of social media users, with many sympathizing with her as Charles alluded to his mortality amid his health issues.

"so sad for her 😢," one user commented.

Others expressed concern for her, writing:

"Aww what happened – I hope she's OK!," while another person asked "Why is she crying?"

Overall, the tour was a success, with many celebrations, and Charles even got to plant a tree in a new garden they created for him, showing his dedication to the environment and its future. He went on to request that the local staff take care of the tree and monitor its growth, requesting updates and photographs of it. The royals then concluded their tour and waved at the locals from their plane as the rain continued.
