As Italy continues to be under lockdown in an effort to contain the Coronavirus, some civilians are finding ways to bring a little fun to a gloomy situation.
This Thursday, a video posted on Twitter showed inhabitants of a Siena neighborhood all lean out of their windows to sing with each other.
The video, which was uploaded by a local last Thursday evening, showed neighbors in the city of Siena lean out of their windows to sing an Italian song. The song, which is titled Canto della Verbena (While Siena Sleeps), is a traditional song in the locality which inhabitants sing to express pride for their city.
The video was uploaded by David Allegranti, who is a writer for Il Foglio newspaper. Speaking to HuffPost, Allegranti said the video, which has since gone viral, was sent to him by a friend of his.

The post has since sparked a heartwarming trend in Italy, where quarantined civilians take to their balconies and windows to sing uplifting songs in unison.
As the country remains locked down to hinder the spread of the virus, many Italians have found comfort through singing the national anthem with their compatriots to express their love and pride for their nation through this difficult time.
In an attempt to lift up the nation, the Italian airforce is also using music. With Pavarotti’s Nessun Dorma playing in the background, 9 planes let out colored exhumes to create the Italian flag in the sky.
The planes are shown overtaking one single plane, which presumably symbolizes the deadly Coronavirus.
