Puppy Excited To Play With New Friends- A Herd Of Wild Deer
Dec 04, 2018 by apost team
Deer are some of the gentlest creatures in the world. Although if you've ever seen one in the forest, you know how skittish they can be. Deer have a difficult time trusting people and animals. This is because they have several natural enemies. However, some deer break that mold.
Recently, deer have been known to socialize with humans and their pets. Sometimes they hang around long enough for you to document the experience. For instance, they can even be seen being friendly to their hunters! Brian Powers was one of the lucky ones. He was hunting in Wausau, Wisconsin when he was approached. Powers saw the deer sipping from a creek earlier but never thought it would come anywhere close to him.
It drew closer as if it wanted to be petted. Brian scratched its head as the two of them relaxed together. He noticed that it had an orange scarf around its neck. Orange is used to stop hunters from mistaking one another as deer, so someone must have wanted to protect this sweetheart.
The gentle creature stayed with him for about 10 minutes before wandering off. Later that day, Brian saw it again. The deer decided that it needed more scratches and came back to him. Powers says that he's been hunting for over four decades and has never seen anything similar. However, there was a similar encounter in Wisconsin that same year.

Deer can be surprising. If you watch this video, you will see a herd of does engaging with a young puppy. They crossed a pasture just to see what all the fuss was about.
Kathy Olson lives in Crivitz, Wisconsin with her Australian Shepherd puppy named Cooper. He was only 3 months old when he encountered the herd. She thought that he might have had an instinct to herd them. Of course, it is also possible that Cooper just wanted to be friends.
He quickly began to play with them in the field. Cooper can be seen running, jumping, and downright frolicking around the does. The deer may be thinking that this puppy is a little off at this point.
Cooper continues his playing. He wants to show the deer that they're just as good as any dog when it comes to playtime. You can imagine that he does could see his good intentions. Is that why they are sticking around for so long? Eventually, they start to walk away slowly.
He doesn't care. Cooper knows that just made some new friends. He jumps beside the deer to keep them around. The baby is hoping that they'll stay and play with him. What a sweet puppy!
