The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sent out their 2024 holiday card in late December 2024, and it’s been melting hearts ever since. The holiday card showcased six images that perfectly captured their love for each other, their happy life with their two children, and their work through the Archewell Foundation.
The collage also included pictures of Harry and Meghan captured during their trips to Nigeria and Colombia in 2024. As with all holiday pictures of royal family members, we were also spoiled with a new family picture. In the shot, Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3, could be spotted running into their parents’ arms while the family was surrounded by their dogs. The card was completed with a note that read:
“On behalf of the office of Prince Harry and Meghan, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation. We wish you a very happy holiday season and a joyful new year.”
Fans of Harry and Meghan instantly took to social media to react to the image, with many applauding their family life and others complimenting them on their growing children.
“Absolutely gorgeous photo and absolutely beautiful how they are growing so much! Wishing them a beautiful christmas ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” one user wrote.
Another user on Instagram showed approval of the collage of pictures that summed up their year and showered more love to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on their family photo, commenting:
“So cute!! Love a collage of photos for a holidays card ❤️ and the family photo 😍”
The Sussexes' 2023 Christmas card did not feature their two adorable children. It only featured a snap of the couple beaming at the 2023 Invictus Games in Dusseldorf. In 2022, the royals kept their greetings super sleek, with a captivating black-and-white photograph that showcased the couple alone.
The heartfelt message on the card read:
“From our family to yours, and on behalf of our team at The Archewell Foundation, Archewell Audio, and Archewell Productions, we wish you health, peace, and a very happy new year!”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex established the Archewell Foundation in 2020 as a vehicle for their philanthropic work, and they have included it in the writing of their holiday card for the last three years.
Prince Harry and Meghan's charity has the motto “Show Up, Do Good,” and as part of their work, they’ve traveled to many countries around the globe.
The royal couple switched things up in their extra special 2021 holiday card as their daughter, Lilibet, made her adorable debut appearance. The photo showed them all sitting on their porch at home. The message on the card read:
“This year, 2021, we welcomed our daughter, Lilibet, to the world. Archie made us a ‘Mama’ and a ‘Papa’, and Lili made us a family.”
For the 2020 greeting card, they opted for a picture in their sunny Montecito home rather than the traditional wintery scene. The image featured Archie and their two dogs, Guy and Pula, smiling inside their festive garden shed.
While the Sussexes are known for keeping their children’s lives private, the inclusion of Archie and Lilibet in the 2024 card is a rare glimpse into their family life. A close friend of the couple confirmed to People magazine that their preference for privacy remains a priority, especially regarding their young children. The source explained:
“Harry has been reluctant to show his children publicly, not out of a desire to hide them but to protect their privacy and safety from potential threats. He wants them to lead as normal a life as possible without the fear of kidnapping or harm.”
And, referring to the fate of Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, the source added:
“As a dad and husband, Harry is determined to ensure that history doesn’t repeat itself.”

While the family photo in the Sussexes' 2024 holiday card grabbed much attention, one member of their small family got everyone talking regarding her resemblance to one of William and Kate’s children. Many couldn’t help but be reminded of Princess Charlotte when they saw her cousin Princess Lilibet’s picture. Before the release of the holiday card, the public hadn’t seen an official photograph of Princess Lilibet since the one released to commemorate her 1st birthday.
The family photo had an added touch of intimacy as it was taken at the Sussexes' family home in Montecito, California. Although the faces of Archie and Lilibet are not shown in the image, Lilibet’s adorable long hair and cute floral dress are reminiscent of her cousin Princess Charlotte’s style. Charlotte has been captured in similar cute floral dresses as she accompanied her parents on their royal engagements.
In an adorable official birthday picture of Princess Charlotte taken in 2019, she wore a blue floral dress much like Lilibet’s, with similar white socks and shoes. The same style was noted when she was photographed going to the hospital to meet her younger brother, Prince Louis, shortly after his birth.
Despite not knowing whether Princess Lilibet’s face resembles her cousin Princess Charlotte’s, it’s clear that Harry and Meghan’s style for their children gives a nod to that of the traditional royal family. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have prioritized privacy for their children by keeping them out of the public eye. However, it’s still lovely to see similarities between William and Harry’s daughters.
