Dads around the world were honored on Jun. 18, 2023, for Father's Day, and the British royal family was no different. As has become royal custom, a new photo was released of the Prince of Wales alongside his three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. In 2022, the annual photo was from when the family took a trip to Jordan in the autumn of 2021. Another photo from the trip was used for the family Christmas card later that year.

As George, Charlotte and Louis grow up, William has shown that he is an incredible father to all three of his kids. The future king and his wife, the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, have done their best to keep their personal life private and show just how much of a normal family they actually are. However, with such a prime spot in the public eye, it was only time until people began to notice the ways in which the royal couple acted toward their three adorable children. Throughout their many outings and interactions as a family, the royal couple has shown nothing but love, affection and support for each other and their kids.

Experts have also chimed in with their own analysis of the family’s interactions with one another, especially the parents with their children. From making sure their children are seen by making eye contact with them to keeping them protected from the cameras by shielding them, the Prince and Princess of Wales have shown time and time again that they are incredible parents to their children, and even though they are royalty, they are surprisingly normal parents as well.

Let's take a look back at the photos from Father's Day in years past as well as those marking the occasion in 2023.

Posted to the official Cambridge family social media accounts, adorable photos of Prince William and his three children are too sweet for words. For Father's Day 2022, the photo showed the future king sitting with George and Charlotte on either side of him, William has little Louis on his shoulders, as all four of them are smiling and laughing at the camera.

The photo was taken in Jordan in the autumn of 2021 when the family was there on vacation. Dressed in summery clothing, William wore an olive green polo shirt and beige khaki shorts, while George wore a similar outfit to his father. However, his polo shirt was a khaki camouflage print. Charlotte switched the colors up with a blue and navy gingham dress, while Louis copied her lead and wore a blue striped polo shirt.

Behind them is a gorgeous landscape, which is believed to be Petra, the famous archeological site that might be familiar to movie fans since it served as the backdrop to "Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade." The photo was captioned

"Wishing a Happy Father’s Day to fathers and grandfathers across the world today!"

Jordan holds a special significance for Middleton as she lived there for two years when she was a child due to her father's work for British Airways. Meanwhile, William visited the country back in 2018 as part of his tour of the Middle East.

Fans were quick to comment about how "lovely" and "gorgeous" the photo was, as many users couldn't get over how adorable all of the children's laughter and smiles were.

That same year, the late Queen Elizabeth released a photo that also made a big impression on royal fans. Posted to the official royal family Instagram account, the colorized photo of the queen and her father, King George, showed a rare candid moment between the two monarchs. The image was captioned:

"Wishing all of our followers a very happy Father’s Day.

"📸 The Queen (then Princess Elizabeth) with her father King George VI in 1946."

The photo is incredibly special as it showed not only father and daughter, but two monarchs of British history. One commenter wrote, "What a delightful snap of HRH's G & E 👑👑" Another user said:

"His Late Majesty King George VI would be beaming with pride at his daughter’s achievements"

In response, another person wrote: "His Majesty the king is a great source of inspiration, he did something he wasn't comfortable doing and showed and lead us, to a great era regardless of pullbacks."

Meanwhile that same year, King Charles II and Queen Camilla posted their own slideshow of photos with their respective fathers. It was captioned, "Wishing everyone a very happy Father’s Day!"

This comes amid Camilla's recent debut in British Vogue, where she spoke candidly on the topics of her life and marriage. Despite having been scrutinized by the press over the years, Camilla said, "you just have to find a way to live with it."

She also revealed an adorable connection that she has with her granddaughter. The two are both fans of the popular Wordle puzzle and finish it each day, albeit with a little friendly competition. Camilla told Vogue: "She'll text me to say, 'I've done it in three', and I say, 'Sorry, I've done it in two today. It's very satisfactory when it tells you how brilliant you are."

On Jun. 18, 2023, in keeping with their annual custom, new photos were released to mark Father’s Day in the royal household. On their Instagram account, a gorgeous portrait of William with his children George, Charlotte and Louis was shared, striking joy in the hearts of all their followers. While the first photo appeared more posed, with Louis sitting on his father’s lap, the second was more candid. It showed William dressed casually in blue pants and a button-down shirt as the ever-playful Louis, now 5, stood cheek-to-cheek with his father and had his arms wrapped around his neck. A huge smile was on his face, showing just how happy he was to be sharing the moment with his family.

George, 9, sat to William’s left, dressed in jeans and a blue collared shirt as he looked lovingly towards his dad while Charlotte, 8, was sat to the right, in a baby blue floral dress and cardigan. Both children were also smiling from ear to ear as their loving and protective father held his arms around them. The photos were captioned simply:

“Happy Father’s Day ❤️”

Just a day earlier, the family was present at Buckingham Palace for Charles’ first Trooping the Color since becoming king. On the palace balcony, Louis was his usual cheeky self as George, who looked ever so smart in a double-breasted blazer and red tie, and Charlotte, who donned an elegant white-and-red dress, joined their parents. As is her style, Kate was the picture of elegance in a gem green fitted dress and matching hat.
