The coronavirus pandemic has meant that most of us, at some point, have had to be separated from our loved ones this year. Whilst this is for everyone's safety, Prince Harry has spoken about the need to remember people who are alone or isolated and to check in on them to make sure they are coping and keeping well.
The recent Zoom call was with a group of past Invictus Games competitors. It included Jen Warren from the UK, Bruno Gruevremont from Canada, Mark Reidy from Australia, and JJ Chalmers from the UK, who was their team captain, reports the Independent. Prince Harry spoke about the importance of being part of a community and the fact they all had each other to lean on while they got to grips with this new way of life.
"With lockdown and everything else that’s been going on... surely this was an amazing opportunity for you guys to come together. Whatever you bring back from work or whatever you’ve consumed in your day-to-day life you can actually pedal it or sweat it out of you," he said.

The Invictus Games competitors are already proof of the resilience and determination of humans, and Harry praised them by saying they set an example that “every single one of us has the strength inside us to confront anything that comes across us.” This is definitely something important for us all to remember.
Harry's main emphasis was on ensuring certain friends or loved ones don't fall through the cracks:
“You know that if you haven’t heard from someone for a while that the first thing you need to do is check in on them because just because your life is sort of on track and everything’s going according to plan, there’s other people that you may not have heard of and you check in, you might get the answer of ‘Yeah, I’m fine,’ but you guys are the ones that are going to dig a little bit deeper and say, ‘Fine is not the answer that I was looking for. I’m actually asking how you are’,” he said.
After having officially left behind royal duties and no longer being part of the senior royals, the 35-year-old prince recently moved into a new permanent residence in Santa Barbara, California, with his wife Meghan Markle, and son Archie.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Invictus Games, which were meant to take place in The Hague this year, have been postponed to 2021, the official website reports. We are sure they will be back bigger and better than ever!
