Prince Harry Is Reportedly Shunned From Windsor Castle & Made To Stay At Hotel Instead, Insider Claims

Prince Harry and Meghan announced to the world on Jan. 8, 2020, that they would step down as senior working members of the British royal family in a move popularly dubbed “Megxit.” By spring of 2020, the transition was complete, and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were no longer performing royal duties.
Since then, they have lived in the United States with Meghan’s mother and their two children. Although Harry and Meghan stepped down from their duties as senior royals, they have not shunned the spotlight, appearing at public charity events and pursuing their own creative and philanthropic ventures, many under their brand, Archewell Foundation.
However, tensions between their small family and the royals have grown and created a wall between them. Scrutiny of Harry and Meghan has intensified, and people have started expressing their disdain for every move and decision they make, especially toward their children’s — Archie and Lilibet — lives.
With reports that Harry, Meghan, and the children are returning to the United Kingdom for the upcoming 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games, chatter on the Sussexes’ departure has since reemerged. This was further exacerbated by the budding anticipation of whether the Sussexes would meet the cancer-stricken King Charles and Kate Middleton during their visit to the United Kingdom.
Reports have emerged saying that King Charles has extended an olive branch to the Sussexes to mend the rift between them. However, as anticipation builds toward May 8, 2024 — the day of Harry’s arrival in the United Kingdom — an anonymous source revealed that Prince Harry might be staying at a hotel again as he did in 2023 when he was denied a room at Windsor Castle by the British royal family.
On April 9, 2024, a royal insider revealed to Page Six that there had been talk of King Charles possibly extending an olive branch to Prince Harry and Meghan so that he could reunite with his grandchildren.
“I can see Charles desperately wanting to see the children, and extending this olive branch to Meghan and Harry. He may decide that life is just too short,” the insider claimed to the outlet. “Balmoral is truly the perfect, restful place for a reunion. If he does issue an invite, then Harry and Meghan should surely agree to the visit.”
While Charles had seen Archie on many occasions before the Sussexes migrated to the United States, the outlet noted that he'd only met Lilibet in person once, in June 2022, during the Platinum Jubilee celebrations for the late Queen Elizabeth. At the time, the insider revealed that Charles spent time with his grandchildren during that visit, describing the encounter as “fantastic” and “very emotional.”
“It was a fantastic visit, and, of course, the king was delighted to see his grandson and meet his granddaughter for the first time,” the source confirmed.
Meghan last set foot in the United Kingdom in 2022 when she attended the late Queen Elizabeth’s funeral. Archie and Lilibet, however, were left in California and taken care of by Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland.
Meghan was absent from Charles’ coronation in May 2023 because it coincided with Archie’s birthday. Harry, who attended, immediately left after the ceremony to head back to California.
Should the reunion happen, it would be a positive moment for the British royal family, considering their recent unfortunate ordeals.

According to The Mirror, an anonymous source revealed that Prince Harry might be staying at a hotel again when he comes to the United Kingdom for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games.
Harry is expected to arrive in London to give a talk at St. Paul’s Cathedral on May 8, 2024. Meghan has been reported to skip the trip back to the United Kingdom as she would stay in the United States to prepare for the upcoming unofficial royal tour of Nigeria that would take place after Harry’s engagement for the Invictus Games.
"Meghan is leaving him there alone, and I just think he's going to cast a really lonely portrait of a man without his friends around him, without his family and without senior members of the Royal Family. And no wife there with him as well,” royal commentator Charlotte Griffiths told GB News about Meghan’s absence on Harry’s trip to London.
Despite reports that Harry and the British royal family are reconnecting amid their rift, the publication reported, as per an anonymous source, that Harry might be renting a hotel room again, as he did in 2023 when the British royal family denied him a room at Windsor Castle.
Harry’s eviction from Frogmore Cottage in 2023 puts him in an especially awkward situation because he no longer has an official home in the United Kingdom.
The Telegraph learned in 2023 that Prince Harry must “give notice” to the British royal family first if he wants a room in Windsor Castle. He was denied a room at the castle when he flew to London in 2023 for the WellChild Awards. Harry ended up staying at a hotel at the time, all without police security.
