According to HELLO!, Prince Harry met the woman he would go on to marry at Soho House's Dean Street Townhouse London in the summer of 2016 after being set up by a mutual friend. The two met for a second date on the very next day. On their third date, Harry whisked Meghan on a romantic getaway to Botswana where they stayed in a luxury tent. Here are the events that followed.

September 25th, 2017, was a significant day for the lovebirds as it marked their first public appearance together as a couple. They are pictured here at Toronto, Canada, for the Invictus Games, a sports event created by Harry himself. According to HELLO!, Meghan was still living in the Canadian city at that time for her work on the TV series, Suits. During his stay, Harry surprised her on the set of the show. A source told the magazine that he was “super low-key,” met the crew and was just “so happy to watch his lady.” The source added:

"He's incredibly supportive of her work. Meghan showed him around set. Everyone was so excited."

Here they are pictured five days later on September 30th, 2017, at the closing ceremony of the games. This day was special, too, because Harry left his VIP box for the Air Canada box to spend time with Megan, her mom Doria Ragland, and Meghan’s two friends—husband and wife Jessica Mulroney and Markus Anderson.

We fast forward to November 27th, 2017 for the couple’s official photocall at The Sunken Gardens at Kensington Palace announcing their engagement. They had already been dating for a year at that time, and plans for a wedding in the spring of 2018 were in order.

Harry revealed that he proposed to the actress in the privacy of his home over a roast chicken dinner, which he described as a typical night for them.

Markle recalled the moment he asked her to be his wife, sharing: “It was just an amazing surprise. It was so sweet and natural and very romantic. He got on one knee.

“It was a really nice moment. It was just the two of us,” the Duke said to his then-fiancée:

“And I think I managed to catch you by surprise as well.”

Spring came along and thus did the biggest wedding event of the year.

On May 19th, 2018, Meghan officially became the Duchess of Sussex. Here they are waving from the Ascot Landau Carriage during the carriage procession outside Windsor Castle. According to a media report, an estimated 1.9 billion people tuned in to watch the ceremony live.

Meghan never ceases to stun no matter the occasion; she was a gorgeous bride and she glowed even while expecting. She was seven months pregnant in the image above, taken on March 5th, 2019. The Duke and Duchess attended a reception to mark the 50th anniversary of the investiture of the Duke’s father’s title of Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace.

On September 25, 2019, the new parents brought their four-month-old son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor along for their royal tour of South Africa, where they met with Archbishop Desmond Tutu at the Desmond & Leah Tutu Legacy Foundation. The group sat down for tea and some chatting and smiles, as Thandeka Tutu Gxashe, the Archbishop’s daughter, described the adorable baby as a “ladies man.” Meghan said her son was an “old soul,” and Harry noted that he’s already used to the cameras, as per The Telegraph.

On January 9th, 2020, the couple announced that they would be stepping down from their roles as working royals. They posted a statement on their Instagram page and said that they came to the decision "after many months of reflection and internal discussions".

According to the BBC, the announcement came as a surprise to Buckingham Palace and other senior royals were “hurt,” by their decision. The announcement came two days after the husband and wife visited Canada House (see above picture), the home of the Canadian High Commission to the United Kingdom, to thank the North American country for the hospitality and support they received during their six-week-break there over Christmas.

According to a report by ELLE on Thursday, December 3rd, 2020, Harry, Meghan, and Archie now live in Montecito, California.
